We're grandfathering in the greatest workers that have already been inducted by the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame, ala Chigusa Nagayo, Lioness Asuka, Jaguar Yokota, Akira Hokuta, Aja Kong, Manami Toyota and Devil Masami.
These women are duly noted and should be. But sadly, lack of recognition has stopped for the great wrestlers that wrestled or are still wrestling. That's where we come in. We've set up a poll for everyone to vote for the nominees for this year's induction. Three of the women will be chosen. The poll closes on Dec. 31 at 11:59 pm. Then a committee of judges will deliberate on the nominees based off public opinion. On Sunday, the second week of January, we will announce the three women that will be inducted into the 2008 Joshi Hall of Fame.
Induction "speeches" will be written in regards to the three, detailing on their accomplishments in joshi puroresu and the impact they've had in their career. These women will be sent plaques and a translated copy of their "speech" in recognition of their accomplishments.
This is your chance to be a part of history, we hope you'll past this around so we can get as many votes in as possible.
Also, we are holding a poll for the young workers of joshi. The Rising Star Award. The two top vote getters will also receive plaques of recognition. There will not be a panel deliberation for this award, this is purely on the popular vote. Unlike the Hall of Fame poll, since there are so many young workers eligible for this award, they will not have their photo shown on this page. Just tag who you want to vote for.
Any and all deliberation or arguments for or against either of the nominees on the two polls may take place in the forums, where there will be designated threads.
