since NEO is the only joshi fed right now that i am aware of that is affiliated with NWA, i can't wait to see her soon on NWA Showcase
NEO is not "affiliated" with the NWA. Another analogy to support what Lucky is stating is that Ultimo Dragon appeared in WCW with the WWF Light Heavyweight title. That didn't mean WCW was affiliated with the WWF. The appearance of a title in a promotion is not necesarily an indicator of that promotion's association with a promotion or governing body.

so in other words even if tamura (then) sported 2 belts upon her entrance, the only belt the crowd knew is the NEO title?

No, Japanese fans recognize the NWA name and at one point NEO probably was a NWA affiliate.

The champion comes out to the NWA music, which the fans will obviously recognise, indicating a strong association with the NWA if not an actual one.  People will have seen Male wrestlers come out to that like Naoyo Ogawa for instance, so there is implication if nothing else.

"NWA" still has a lot of equity built up with traditional fans. And consider the design for the title in question here. That, in and of itself, is somewhat iconic in pro wrestling. I think it would even be safe to say that that NEO title gets a rub from the NWA belt, if it serves any purpose other than making a champion look more champion-esque.

why do i have this feeling that heel champs worked better for NWA?
remember tamura's title reign? she's a heel champ right (but still charismatic)

Cool! Yoshiko looks like a japanese female version of "The Rock"!!  *haha

She did that as a joke for a short while about five years ago.

Not only was that match super but it also helped to re-invigorate Sakura's career. Hel lthe whole 'Best friend' Tamura angle was both comic gold AND produced some really fun matches (The tag title win and then The Ayako showing up and playing a great heel not wanting to be in NEO only to win the tag belts. I especially love two things after the match ends... Emi carrying Tamura to the back because now they are bst buds and Ayako being handed the NEO tag belt and throwing it to the ground like it is beneath her).  *approve

Just some really great fun stuff where SAkura has shined (also making Matsuo look way better than she might actually be in the Double Titles match from December). I'm still convinced that Emi is winning the NEO Double titles to set-up another title match with Tamura and Tamura will finally get her commuppance! *haha

Managed to get some Ice Ribbon off the torrents and watched the Arisa/Aoi versus Yoshiko/Sakura tag match they had just after Tamura and Emi won the Neo tag belts.  Damn I thought that was a lot of fun, Tamura and Emi are so great when they are doing things together.  Tamura as the straight foil to Emi's goofiness is awesome, especially when Tamura just can't maintain the act.  I really hope they get to work together again at some point this year.

Managed to get some Ice Ribbon off the torrents ...

Maybe a bit off-topic, but I think Ice Ribbon has got to very little with Pro-Wrestling. It may show off the participants' amateur skills and it's a welcome opportunity for the audience to view their idols up-close, but for my taste, Ice-Ribbon matches are too boring. And I think there are too many perverts at ringside, who just paid the entrance fee to see wrestling kids from up-close.

Except those are the kids parents for the most part. Emi makes sure the perverts stay away as you're not even allowed to photograph the adult wrestlers during her events.

People should know that Emi created ICE RIBBON to help young girls not exploit them. I know it's hard to fathom...

*crazy

And he's talking about a match of Tamura/Emi vs. Aoi/Arisa who are  joshi wrestlers not trainees or children.

OK, I didn't know that.

JOSH Chisako just updated that tamura would be teaming up with jaguar yokota soon against tanny mouse and yuki miyazaki
man! i thought NEO has no plans of giving her a good tag team partner again
she is good but if teamed with yokota, that team would be unstoppable

I asked Mschif the question: Which would you rather take, a Spinning Backfist from Amazing Kong or a Running Elbow from Tamura?

Her answer: "Depends, I didn't get hit like Lorelei did. However from personal experience as mean as Kong's backfist is, I'd still rather take that one"

Shimmer wrestler, who got her jaw displaced by Kong's backfist.

Considering that Tamura had no problem squashing Mariko's face with that thing, I see her reasoning. Everytime I see that shot, and then Mariko cutting the promo with her nose totally shaped like a Z... ouch...

But Lorelei got fucked up by Kong all the same and she's not the kind of girl who looks fragile, despite being American. :P

tamura is friggin' stiff that with the kind of power her elbow possessed, i wonder what kind of damage it can further do
mschif is one of the best sellers i know due to her inhuman flexibililty but if one is facing tamura, the lines between grimacing in real pain and selling is blurred for sure

She really meshes well with the american style. Both matches so far in Chickfight 5 with her have been really great. I was surprised Danger took to that level of stiffness. And Tamura showed a lot more fire in chickfight. She always seems bored and lethargic in japan, but she really seemed to get into her matches in chickfight.

Thats one of the complaints a lot of people (and myself) have about Tamura is she'll step up her game when she wants to. Its not really like she cant, because you know, shes paid her dues. But still, kind of unprofessional.

She always brings her A-game in important or title matches so Ill give her that. Shes just cool, everything she does.
