So are the Shimmer and OZ belts the first titles she's held in her career? I can't seem to find any references to anything else. Hopefully this bodes well for a great year for her. Definitely thought she was the star of the 30-minute draw in OZ as well as the storyline (or video package anyway) seemed to put a lot of emphasis on her and her selling and mannerisms were in top form throughout the match, especially near the end.

What was the context anyway? I'm guessing from the pre-match video package that Aja's stable beat the champs so Tomoka demanded a title match and pulled the old "I'll stay in this ring until I get what I want" deal?

IIRC, I believe she's held K-Dojo's WEW Hardcore Tag Titles with TAKA Michinoku.

In due time, I suppose. But there's nothing really wrong with being seen as primarily a tag wrestler as opposed to a break out singles star, there can only be so many of those. And right now since they're trying to elevate as many people as they can with the smaller singles titles floating around I think the tag realm is the perfect place for Tomoka to get a chance to get "made".

Plus, she and Hiroyo together as a team are terrific; they'd probably get lost in the shuffle if they weren't a team. <3 JJ21, they had a BIG win in OZ.

Tomoka regularly says on her blog that she prefers tag team wrestling. Her fans ask her often about singles matches.

What would be a good singles title belt for Tomoka? She's too much of a senpai to be a Jr. champ...

No idea. She is kind of small. I just find her to best the wrestler out of the younger generation so it would be nice to see her vying for singles titles like Ayumi and Hiroyo managed with NEO belts. Interesting tidbit about the preference to tag wrestling.

She's small but only because she's short. She's got teh gunz and works "big".
I think she'll forever be in Ayumi's shadow as Ayumi is the out from the pack type and most people are really high on her as the best joshi has to offer; it's smart for Tomoka to stick to tag wrestling. Hiroyo, too. A notable singles push just isn't in the cards.

Looking back, I have to say, despite his ability to blend into other people's photos, we really need to up Uncle Oni's game to get press coverage. While all the other joshi banners made it in Japanese press, the only one that didn't was Tomoka
