I don't think it's jealousy. I'm just always shocked and amused that JoshiFans.com is the one plus you can be assured to find blind, thoughtless anger at a given Joshi. Always. Everyone everywhere else takes the interview for what it is, but here it becomes part of the Joshi fan fic narrative and no amount of reason can change that.
Regular people: "Wow, Kana runs her own businesses and donates to charity."
Joshi 'Fans': "LOL, look at her bragging about donating to charity. How pathetic, she's a terrible person."
Regular people: "Oh she's tough to go out of her way to wrestle men."
Joshi "Fans': "She's a novelty fetish act who probably sleeps her way to bookings."
It's just, past it's expiration date guys. Seriously. We can all be apart of Joshi reality, or keep wallowing in the useless, pointlessly negative fanfic.
Besides, this is an appreciation thread. If you want to trash her here, people are going to disagree. So if anyone doesn't want to argue, go somewhere else.
I wholeheartedly agree.
I myself posted the interview on another Wrestling-related board (FPC) and everybody just enjoys the read. Just like it should be.
And, just because this is seriously not sitting well with me.
At least Ayumi isn't a terrible human being...oh wait, Kana's not terrible because she gives to charity, right? And she made sure to let us all know that, too... *eye roll*
Are you high?
How can someone, no matter if a fan of Joshi, or a fan of Kana, or a general human being, actually crap on someone donating to charity?! Just seriously low. Like ankle-high. Ugh!
And to clarify, Japanese in specific is a language were you can very easily formulate something in a genuine, or downspoken, or posing (ect.) way.
Do you seriously think someone, who actually uses this tool in her interview to make several statements sound bigger and better, wouldn't do this on that topic as well?
Her answer to this question (so much for her bringing it up) is nothing but genuine.
Several answers are, you can actually see where she's just Kana the (business)person and where she's Kana the wrestling-character.
I'm the guy who translated the interview btw, so I spent quite some time with the interview including a personal conversation with Kana via a social-media website.
So seriously, I normally don't come here (or any message board for that matter) looking for trouble, but you... should be ashamed. Let's leave it at that.
Oh and while I'm already ranting.
If Kana's attitude is just a harmless gimmick, then why is 80% of the Joshi community pissed off at her? She only gets bookings from WAVE and SMASH now, and the Shirais are the only friends she virtually has left.
Where do you take these number from and why do you think you know who likes/dislikes/hates whom?
Have you ever actually spoken to anyone involved in this?
Like first-hand, no he said, she said.
I have.
Both in real life, after shows, and thanks to the possibilities of the internet with a hand full even quite indepth from the comfort of my home.
That's why I'd like to let you know, that you might want to reconsider what you believe to be relieable sources for "information" like that.
Meh, finished with this.
I love this board, but some of the statements here are just aggravating.
edit: slightly toned down, as 22nijuni is somewhat right. the whole charity-thing remains a lowpoint of things I've seen posted on here, though.
