DREAM QUEEN TOURNAMENT
« on: June 10, 2008, 11:40:21 AM »

Is this tournament taking place in the late-90s? I'm not bothered, but a certain wrestler in Bracket 4 will draw some moans and groans. If we're sticking to that time frame, I guess she could be replaced by Takako Inoue

I was like totally thinking of putting Takako with Nakano but since I don't know much about Takako, I was thinking that it would've been like a total mismatch so I put in Shark because it was an animal name too and couldn't think of anyone else. And this tournament is on a "Twilight Zone"-like timeframe where everyone is at their absolute best. But then again, I don't know much about Shark either so Takako it is!

Tournament is missing Jackie Sato, Devil Masami, and the greatest joshi wrestler/trainer of all time, Jaguar Yokota.  not to mention evil, sadistic heat machine Dump Matsumoto.

That said, Chigusa is booked to beat Shimoda, but it's a good match.  Besides, a in her prime, loved by millions of schoolgirls Nagayo matches up great against...

Dynamite Kansai beats Yamada in match of kickers.

Akira Hokuto handles Lioness Asuka, but it's probably the match of the first round and too close to call until the ending.  And for the purposes of the tournment drama, Hokuto's knee is injured by Asuka's kicks.

Bull squashes Takako.

Aja squashes Mita.  In both cases we have a top rank monster heel against a good worker but not a star.  No way the monsters lose.

Kyoko Inoue in her prime is too much for Mayumi Ozaki, who is a great worker but has never been a top draw except when teaming with Kansai.

Manami Toyota/Yumiko Hotta.  Already seen it.  Hotta kicks hard, look tough, Toyota pulls off her underdog routine and wins.

Kandori/Kudo would be fun.  People forget now just how big Kudo was.  Kandori was just as big for different reasons.  Hard core star against tough judo girl. I have to go with Kudo though.

I didn't forget about Sato, Masami, and Yokota in fact I wanted to include them but I haven't made my way up to them just yet so it's not as fun if you don't know them.
