OK, I've been getting back into Joshi this past week after a year's hiatus from wrestling in general (was burnt out watching it!!!!!) and naturally been watching a lot of Senjo. Just wondering, is Okuda's entrance theme that Bonnie Tyler song "Holding Out For A Hero", because it sounded a lot like that if I remember correctly.

Also I'm loving the work she (and the other girls too) have been doing against the JWP crew from last year. Impressive stuff and I LOVE how the jumping knee is her main strike. The one she does off the top rope looks OUCH.

she's been getting criticized for using the jumping knee a little too much but with the way her matches go, she wouldn't be using her knee if it wasn't so effective

Just watched her injury match, and I was instantly reminded why I love her. She may only have like 3 or 4 moves in her arsenal, but she works them so well and really knows how to build them up and make them mean more as the match progresses. Plus she has the facials down to a science.

If the jumping knee was good enough for Jumbo Tsuruta and (ugh) Triple H, then what's the problem? She's scrappy as hell, but she's also not very big at all...expecting her to bust out some kind of powerbomb as a finisher just doesn't make that much sense. Imagine her trying to DVD someone the size of Aja, or even Matsumoto.

Plus, since Satomura has the Scorpio Rising, it makes sense that Okuda would use a running strike.

knowing how lazy hhh has become (i remember him defeating the entire ECW roster at one RAW episode with only a steel chair), i don't see it happening anymore

No one has mentioned Akiyama's jumping knee? Disgusting.

I mean he won his second GHC Heavyweight title with it.

I think right now Okuda is not using her running knee as a finisher but rather as a weapon to weaken the opponent. Hasn't she won her important matches with the German Suplex ?

Akiyama's knee is $$$ and UT is right to be disgusted by the lack of mention.

As far as THE OKUDA is concerned, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Would like to see her use a proper Enzui knee like Hyuga's cos it both makes sense for her to use AND it would be a sly "in joke" kind of thing for her to do as well.

And as always:

I liked the finisher she used to win the Junior/Pop Titles from Arisa, the Takako Panic. It also works with the whole mindset of using varations of your main striking or transition moves, like Hyuga and Ran do with their knees and how Kana does with her butt or how Ohata does with her cross bodies.

Wouldnt it be cool  if she were to use a knee version of that...

I don't think it's a bad move from Okuda, but I also wonder if it isn't a bit early to leave Satomura's wing. Perhaps another year in Sendai would have been useful for Okuda to develop her skill even more before going freelance....

Maybe she also got tired of seeing all these girls evolving, getting new MOVEZ~! and outfits all the time, and got jealous. Plus considering she'd missed a year, which would push her back even farther.

Hopefully she may go to JWP or Ibuki. She and Arisa were definitely the mega-stars of this generation. The Junior All Stars show was proof of that, with the venue exploding at the last 3 minutes of the show when those two were just nailing each other with stiff shots and head drops. So maybe Okuda will have a better chance than most girls as a freelancer.

I'm wondering maybe if JWP will take her in. Could become a great catalyst for a full on Sendai/JWP feud once Hotta-Gundan runs its course.

From what my friend told me, she wants to have more matches which is hard since Sendai has few shows. She's been wrestling for 3 years like the Shirai's, Matsumoto, and Nakajima, but she's had way less matches.

As Sendai only run once a month she could she work other promotions the other 3 weekends of every month.

Well she'd have to ask Meiko and get all that arranged, and then fly all the way to Tokyo just for a 10 minute match then fly back. Plus it would be hard to get bookings since Meiko wants to keep her protected, but so do the other companies with their own talent. I just hope everything works out for her for the best.

Yeah, I'm predicting she leaves by the end of the year to Oz Academy unless Meiko starts doing stuff with her and the others in general.
