Well, I was least expecting Okuda to be taking an exit from Sendai. As ELPS mentioned, one would expect Hiren to leave first and migrate to Oz Academy considering the improvements she underwent. I hope this doesn't become a bad move for Okuda, though my guess is she could possibly join JWP.

I did think something was strange as she hadn't updated her blog since November. Well there you go.

I did think something was strange as she hadn't updated her blog since November. Well there you go.

SENDAI has removed links to Okuda's blog and profile and took her off the flash graphic on the homepage.  But her blog & profile are still there (at least for now), if you type in the full URL.

http://www.sendaigirls.jp/cgi-bin/html/okuda/okuda.cgi is her blog.  After not posting since her 19th birthday in November (when she said she made her decision to leave), she made a post on 1/27 (a couple of days after the show and the public announcement).  Most of it seems to be the standard "I'm pursuing other opportunities.  I love Sendai and hope to see you again. I'll return in Tokyo once my shoulder heals." stuff, but there was a bit on the end where she wants to face and beat Satomura.  I'd recommend against getting in the ring with Meiko for a while.  My heart wants this to be some sort of angle, but my head tells me it's probably what it looks like: she wants more matches and to live in the big city and to have more freedom.

Her profile from the mobile page is still there as well, although the direct link has been removed.

http://www.sendaigirls.jp/cgi-bin/mobile/profile-okuda.html  It's just an old picture, her height, weight, debut date, etc.

Maybe Meiko really did succeed in making Okuda hate her......

All I know is that the first time that Okuda and Meiko are in the ring against each other, Meiko's gonna no-sell everything unless Okuda forces her to sell, and then we all know how Meiko's gonna respond to THAT!

I think avoiding Meiko in the ring for a good few years would be an outstanding career move for Okuda right now.

i hope it's just for the sake of adding aggressiveness to her arsenal
because if ever there's someone at SENDAI who's very good at expressing herself as a stuck up prick, it's chisako

You never know, maybe Meiko has respect for her.

Or it could be the feelings that KANSAI felt for Ayumi after she forearm shivered her teeth in.  Or how Nanae felt for Ayumi that one time she bitchslapped her...  Or how THE Ayako felt about Fuuka...

I can go on.

You could say that, though I suspect this to be more than just your average veteran vs. prodigy scenario. Considering how she trained all of the SENDAI talent, including Okuda, Meiko probably felt slightly betrayed by possibly her best prospects. In Okuda's defense, her mindset is that she was being held back, and I'm not just talking about her injured right shoulder.

That was the first thing I thought of while watching the shenanigans between Natsuki and Ayumi in that tag match. Nanae and Natsuki are so gangsta.

Yea I think she should just explore and gain more knowledge and skill and then return to
SENDAI and see how much growth she has. I honestly want to see how a Meiko/Okuda
match would be at the end of 2009.

...at lease we still have Ryo Mizunami (not like it matters), I honestly thought she would been the more breakout due to being labled as the "Last child of GAEA".

i can't tell that she would gain better knowledge in tokyo or something
the only feds where i could remember her having good matches were in SENDAI or JWP

JWP would be her best bet, I was interested in the mini feud of her and Arisa.
She wouldnt be brought out in NEO or WAVE...possibly OZ Academy but it can
raise eyebrows as sometimes Meiko do make rare appearances on OZ shows.

Well, here's the news on Shuri "Tyrannosaurus" Okuda.  MAKEHEN had a show today (Io & Mio beat Mikado & Tojuki Leon), but then Okuda's music came on and she was introduced as the newest member of Team MAKEHEN.  I did not expect this and it doesn't seem like a good decision to me for her career.  She said that she just started training again and should be back in action in a few months and entertained the idea of a tag team with Mikado.  Mikado didn't seem too keen, as she said Okuda was small and weak and pampered.

I found a few pictures and she was still wearing Sendai warm-ups.  Hmmmmm....

I sense a work....I mean seriously you go from Sendai to a fed that doesn't even get televised, and I'm not sure if they sell dvds or not....

The only way I can see it not being a work is if she wanted to do all kinds of "KEWL MOOVZ!!~* but I doubt it immensely.

My guess, it's like what Meiko did for Hiren. Sending her somewhere else for extra training. Maybe Okuda and Hiren could become a heel tag team vs the Sendai Loyalists....Hmm Heel Okuda...that might be the most epic awesomeness evar.

Yeah...praying its a work...

So...she couldn't get hired somewhere else?  Sendai have had a lot of the Makehen girls on their shows recently, which could indicate some kind of working agreement going on, or could indicate that Okuda wanted to go there because she's become friends with the Shirais and shit.  You can't tell me that practically junior less NEO or even JWP wouldn't have taken her.
I may drop you on your head

I can't help but suspect this is a work because MAKEHEN was the last place I suspected Okuda to tread. Seriously, there has to be an agreement between MAKEHEN and Sendai, but then again, I wouldn't hold my breath for too long.

that move is what i call a step down from working in a critically-acclaimed fed like SENDAI to the hardly exposed MAKEHEN

on the other hand, moving to a rarely televised fed is better than AWOL

Could be MAKEHEN are serious about expanding their joshi division and want it up there with your JWPs and NEOs, hiring someone like Okuda could be a step towards that.

Huh?

Anyways, I can see why she might join a group like MAHEKEN where beyond all reason a guy who should have little joshi wrestling connections in Tomohiko Hashimoto has managed to get the Shirai Sisters booked all over relatively often.
