Like with Sirelda (aka Jamie D), SUN brought in several imposing-looking women whose look could be used as the draw and story, regardless of talent or skill level. No one is really to blame for the in-ring ability demonstrated during their matches other than the people or person who booked them.

^^I've seen Jamie D in Canada (vs/ 21st Century Fox once and Misty the other time) and she looks good to me. Of course she's not a joshi calibre wrestler but despite her unfavorable (to a wrestling crowd, anyway) appearance she managed to get the fans behind her just by being talkative and witty. 21st was the heel.

I think Africa 555 also legit wrestles in Canada as the Alpha Female.


Amazing did actually suggest both of them to SUN management. She knows Trenesha from before she became Panther Claw.

The trend or approach to booking is really no different than bringing in Reggie Bennett or Nicole Bass to main event. And they were main eventing shows with deep, talented joshi rosters.

I may have to rewatch it. I just felt like it was just too contrived, like they were trying to add in every big match element they could. However, the result just felt too over the top. Then again, I did keep getting called away from the computer, so that might have made it feel disjointed. I'll give it another chance when I get the chance.

I'm a biased Nanae mark. So take that for what it's worth.

I am too, though. I'll have to get around to watching it soon, I've just been busy with watching Christopher Daniels and Austin Aries.

That was in her second reign when AJW closed.

Technically, Nanae's second WWWA Title reign was after AJWPW closed. It was kind of like a ceremonial reign too. The promotion closed shortly after Kumiko Maekawa won the title. Nanae defeated Kumiko for the title in a non-AJWPW match.

This site with 1000's of Hyuga pics....seriously I took like 5 hours saving pictures from it. I loved the match, and it was one of my top 3 matches of the year.
