I wonder why they didn't just give Bolshoi the belt especially  if it's just a transitional one .That would have been somewhat fresh.

I imagine its because she doesn't want to put herself over too strongly since she is the person running things. If JWP was healthier she might have put herself even lower on the card.

So Haruyama's first defense is against Aoi Kizuki.

Bolshoi is the new Openweight Champion. Haruyama retires at the end of the year.

Makoto–Mio Shirai–Misaki Ohata–Tomoka Nakagawa–Tsukasa Fujimoto–Tsukushi

Oz is the new Openweight Champion. Sounds like there was tons of fuckery with POLICE and Nishio at ringside.

Seems like a potential decent set up for Nakamori taking the title home.

I really don't know who wants to see Oz doing her usual Jarrett-esque shtick of 5000 run-ins during a match. Really just a shame, there's some fun stuff you could've done with Bolshoi at the top but welp. If/when Nakamori takes the belt I'd rather have it be from Bolshoi or Nakajima... not 2015 Ozaki.

Bolshoi & nakajima are the only other strong in-house challengers. Its better to save them for. Its probably better to save them for defenses opposed to Nakamori's big first title win.

I'm not enthusiastic about Ozaki winning the JWP title in 2015 either, especially using her tired Oz Academy cheating schtick.  I'm wondering if they will do something wacky like have Arisa Nakajima win the OZ title this weekend (she's part of a convoluted 6 way match to crown a new champion) to set up each other trying to get "their" belt back.

Worth pointing out that Arisa is the newest member of Ozakigun.

Hopefully the fuckery is kept to a minimum in JWP.

She joined after the tag title win during the post-match backstage interview, after she had called out Bolshoi for constantly losing to Ozaki.

Her 1/10 OZ Openweight Championship match against Kato (w/ special guest referee Mio) is now being billed as her debut in the stable.

Same old criticisms with no regard for the actual angle they're trying to do.

SWIFT made this.

It sounds like we'll be getting Ozaki/Nakajima for the Openweight title on the 4/3 Korakuen Hall show.

Interested to see how this plays out.

Awesome news! She was a huge loss when she originally retired as it seemed obvious she would be the one to take over the ace position after Arisa.

Nakajima defeated Ozaki to become the new Openweight Champion. It sounds like it was a rare interference-less Ozaki match.

Probably not the best idea to wear white against Oz.

Ozaki also challenged for a rematch and Rydeen Hagane challenged Arisa for the belt as well.

It's Bolshoi and Ozaki who are having the rematch on 7/24. Despite what some sources may say.

I assume the gimmick will be mask vs. hair.

Bolshoi, Nakamori and Katsu will be representing JWP at CHIKARA's King of Trios this year. Pretty surprised Katsu is getting an oppourtunity like this so soon after returning over Nakajima or even Hagane or Rabbit. She's probably going to be pushed to the moon very quickly, just like Nakajima when she returned in 2012.

JWP (as well as Ice Ribbon) really should get on board with streaming services like STARDOM and WAVE. It sucks that all of their major shows have been regressed to a single camera. Plus it'd just be a nice place for them to put their old stuff from the 90's through to the Hyuga era in the 00's. Some of their best shows and matches from those years can't be found online anymore unless someone uploads them (which never last long anyway).

So in recent news, Arisa won back the JWP title from Kyoko Kimura (who beat her for it back in October) at their November Korakuen show (she's also now tied with Azumi Hyuga for most reigns with the JWP Championship at four). After the match, Arisa announced she will be leaving JWP to become a freelancer! Hanako Nakamori came out and made a challenge for the belt on their year-ending show at Korakuen on December 28th, which will also be Arisa's final match as a JWP wrestler.

Rabbit Miu also announced that she is retiring after December's show as well to get married.

This is a pretty big loss for JWP, Arisa has been their ace even since she came back in 2012 and won the belt almost immediately, and it seems likely that Nakamori will win the belt but I'm not she really has the "it" factor Arisa has to carry JWP. Manami Katsu is obviously being groomed to be the next Hyuga/Nakajima of the promotion but who knows how long it will take before she's ready. Sucks to see Rabbit retire too, I'm not sure if she ever would've won the JWP belt because of how small she is, but she's a great worker and one of JWP's best young wrestlers.

I'm not sure what Arisa's plans are going from here, maybe she'll join SEAdLINNNG since she's become a regular over there or maybe (hopefully) will show up in STARDOM. Hell, maybe she even wants to get into WWE with the success Kana has been having over there and the rumors of Io and Hojo being offered contracts as well as the rumored international women's tournament being in the works.
