I don't know what the proper jujitsu name for it is, but this guy who used to use it in matches in cali would call it a Barbedwire Leg choke.

Whatever you call it, it's still pretty cool

Ran Yu Yu has the European Clutch which is a submission move - like the cross arm stretch. Then she modified it and it became the European Clutch Pin which was what TRex showed in the GIF.

Ran means illuminated, bright, or lustrous. It does not mean "madness".

So the OG European Clutch is the Cross Armed Triangle-esque Choke, while the Prawn Hold is known as the European Clutch Pin/Hold?

Now I'm a little bit confused. The Japanese website of wrestling moves called the "European Clutch" a pin move, and which makes sense because clutch is usually associated with a pin move: http://waza.fc2web.com/yo/yo-ropiannkuracchi.html

Also here they showed Ran Yu Yu winning with the "European Clutch" against Miyazaki and the picture they showed is: http://tora-ya.hp.infoseek.co.jp/2006/neo/pic1/053115.jpg

Now that is neither the cross arm choke nor the cross arm modified pin hold. Hmmm......

I was wondering when Ran Yu Yu's no. 1 fan was going to chime in. So Karri isn't that move to your understanding the European Clutch?

in fact iam a huge fan of Ran yu yu so that makes me her biggest fan! and the European Clutch is simply a move that comes in many forms, like it can be turned into a pin or submission and it can be just a pin(when she jumps over there legs and bridges back) or just a submission(when she just looks them in it without going under there legs to pull there arms through)

Yes and no. I'm starting to track down some Ran matches, but until I feel rather familiar with her work and whatnot, I won't start production on the video.

I believe that it's a cross-armed German suplex. It's also known as the X-Plex.

I must be the only one who still calls it "Aztec Suplex"

The hell you are. That's what I'm calling the move now, though I still have slight tendencies to refer to it as a "Cross Arm Suplex".

Yeah, isn't it the finisher I gave her at the end? Or are you talking about the pin variation? Pin moves are so hard to win with in the SvR universe.

Yeah, and they only protect their finishers. Like I was in a Ladder match and did a Northern Lights Bomb through the announcer's table, and  he still got up in like 10 seconds. Same thing with the Kudo Driver.

I hate that! I tried to find a hack for example to increase damage power of certain moves - to make moves like NLB most devastating that you won't be getting up after that. But there aren't any...
