I hope Meiko doesn't have the same kind of issue.
She'll still be beautiful to me. Yeah... I know that's cliche... inner beauty and all. But I liker that much.
some people ive talked to at myspace found meiko's moveset similar to kenta kobashi is it a good thing or a bad thing?
I guess it would be a great thing... but I really don't see that much of a comparison. They are both great in their own rights, in my opinion.

Oh of course, but I just hope that she doesn't have any permanent effects for her sake because I'd be pretty sad about that, not for her looks, just for her.
In my opinion I would say that Meiko definitely isnt anything like Kobashi at all.  At any point in their careers. I suppose they do both like to freak out in the ring with the fighting spirit though :)  If I had to say, i think Meiko is a little Kawadaish but thats pretty much just for the Kicks and random offense like just randomly stomping on her opponent, but even then not too much.  I think Meikos got some good uniquness in that regard.

Oh, and yeah, I dont know if Meiko and Yoshida have ever faced off, but I would love to see that happen. Meiko can go on the mat, i think that would be aces

I think they've crossed paths in an IBUKI tag match... if I recall correctly. However, it's a big stage singles dream match for me... which is why I used it for the debut JPC match in the GWA.

Oh that's mean on two levels.

I'm sure she's scarfing down more dessert right now. I hope mariko and meiko get a singles matchup because I've seen them have incredible exchanges in tag matches.

Why do you ask Kapeng?  That was in 97 right?  She would have been 17 at the time.

If you are talking about the Meiko-Toshie match on Youtube that was on an episode of Monday Night Nitro in 1997, she was 17 but someone (Schiavone or Tenay, I don't remember) said she was 20.  Maybe they didn't want to admit a girl that would still be considered underage and still in high school in America was wrestling on live TV, or maybe they just didn't know and made it up.  They also said Uematsu was 23-I think she was 22, but WCW was never known for being terribly accurate with such details.

like Josh I. said, i think it aroused the audience's curiosity more knowing somebody got into wcw below 18, i dont think anybody believed at that time that she was 17 until meiko's birthday was brought up in this thread. but her age doesnt hinder her from the true talent that she possessed. i just thought of it. as for the year she debuted at wcw, im not sure if it's 97

Hehe. Yeah it would be a bit wierd to hear.  Some peoples heads might have exploded.  I just had to go and watch two of Meiko's (very short) WCW matches and in the first Schiavone said that Meiko was a teenager, several times, then in the next match, against Toshie, Mike Tenay (who was given a graphic saying, "The voice of Mike Tenay" obviously being their foreign wrestler "expert") who said that Meiko was 20 and Toshie 23 just like JoshiI said.  It's mad seeing those girls on their having such limited matches when you know they would have killed each other in Japan. It would have been insane if Meiko and Sonoko Kato had been allowed to go at it for ten or so minutes.  A lot of the other matches would have looked like slow motion hand bags at dawn  *bwah

well the only way for the joshi stars to have matches longer than 10minutes is if they are members of the nWo
(and the nWo are effective heels coz there is no acting needed, hehehe)

and can you imagine ANY joshi star recruited into nWo?

Hotta. She PUNTS DAMN CLOWNS so I reckon she would fit in. Plus she has cool entrance music just like the nWo :)

And can we have some normal smilies in addition to the big special ones? They clutter up stuff when a simple ;) or :( might suffice. Just my opinion of course.

Meiko is my favorite wrestler period, male, female, Chris Hero, whatever, she's awesome.

And, man, did Hyuga hit that knee. Even though I knew it was coming I flinched. I hope she gets well soon and gets her revenge on that no good Azumi.
