Meiko Satomura

Meiko is one of my all time favorites. I know one of the knocks on her is her selling post becoming a bigger name of sorts. But you can't deny that her offense is (and always has been) downright sick. She's fun to watch and somewhat of a dichotomy. I'm always reminded of the woman who almost kicked Takaeuchi's face off... only to later be seen in a quiet, self-reflective moment, singing softly to herself. My first memory of her is as a show stealer in the failed WCW/GAEA experiment... though, honestly, she seemed to be trying to do too much at the time. And now as the den mother of the Sendai Girls... all I can say is that I <3 Meiko Satomura.

Pics for posterity... and a shining ax kick thingy for us not already having a thread for her.

This and the Toshie thread are actually part of some clicking and searching I was doing into the idea that WWE with their Bull, JBA and WCW/GAEA library stuff probably have enough material for a couple of volumes of something like the "Best of Joshi in North America" or something with quality production value... not that anything like that would ever get produced. But imagine the names they'd have on that thing.
You so much as TOUCH kitty's ass, and I'll put a firecracker in your nutsack and blow your balls all over your pants!

As was posted by Joshi it was announced at the most recent Sendai show that Meiko will be facing Azumi Hyuga for the JWP openweight title.  Meiko and Okuda lost in the tag match beforehand against Hyuga and Arisa with Azumi taking the pin of Meiko.  I think this must be Meiko's first title match since her days in GAEA?

How do you Meiko Mentalists (er...I don't think that ones going to stick somehow  :-\) think the match will go down?

If Meiko wasn't probably careful of her back I would think it might be a full on sixty minute draw, but I doubt that Meiko would want to risk that so it is probably gonna be her with her shoulders down for the three count.  I think the match will be at least a thirty minuter though.

I may drop you on your head

phoentics would be more kind to "Meiko Maniacs" (sound it out)

As far as Meiko/Azumi goes, I smell a time limit draw

I'll go for a Satomura win too... but I'm biased.

This is all kinds of awesomeness.

Toshie's days in my avatar are numbered... as soon as I get some time to mask Meiko and PNG her... ummm yeah... I meant that how it sounded.

After seeing Meiko in that Taboo clip that Twisted posted in youtube thread my Meiko markdom increases even further.  The clip of her doing the handstand and flexing her neck at the same time was positively freaky.  And then her doing her "serious in the ring" face was all kinds of Kawaii.

Need more Meiko.  TIme to watch some matches methinks.

I know.  *give And then with the delay on shows it will take a few more months until after she comes back before we see any of them.  *wail
So some of her earlier matches that I have will do.

I watched a GAEA match from about 2000 the other day, a six woman tag, where she pinned Ozaki when Ozaki was GAEA champ and Meikos reaction is just brilliant.  She's making a belt motion with her hands and sticking her tongue out at Ozaki in a cheeky fashion and its all kinds of ace.  Looking forward to her getting in Azumis face.

I loved watching Meiko shovel those desserts down on her day away from Chigusa  *approve

In the few days that the other Sendai girls have had blogs, I've already noticed that Okuda and Miz are obsessed with food and I think Okuda scarfs down the cake every chance she gets.  No wonder Satomura runs their asses off in the dojo.

And some of those recent pictures of the guns those girls are getting, I think Meiko could charge a fortune to be a personal trainer if she ever wanted to get out of wrestling.

Damn...I hope Meiko comes down to shimmer sometime. Her vs melissa is one of my dream matches.

Someone seriously needs to make a gif of meiko eating her desserts and her making her inring face. It's been so long since I watched that episode of taboo, and I'm glad I can see it again since I've been watching a bunch of recent joshi so I can actually identify some of the people.

Oh no, it's probably Chigusa's old training methods all the way.  From the small excerpts I've seen of the Gaea training, the younger girls weren't about to get anywhere near fat in a hurry, unless it suited their style like Sugar (not that I would ever call the SS fat by any means but you know what I mean?).  Except, maybe, possibly a little lighter than Chigusa.  Or not   *bwah

Meiko is a very beautiful woman. Very kawaii. The sort of face you want to kiss, but she would just kick my ass from pillar to post.

Sugar turned into Eagle Sawai.

You did not just say that about sugar sato?!?   *give  *cries*

The only thing sugar ever could have done without is those arabian style boots she wears occasionally, including in her recent one night only match in oz academy.  Where she looked fit as a fiddle.

I was just noticing in some recent Kensuke Sasaki matches that the eye that he had damaged, which looked like a very similar injury to Meikos is noticably not right, so to speak.  I hope Meiko doesn't have the same kind of issue.
