Seriously? I would be shocked if Shida was signed. She has actually degraded over the last 2-3 years, and WWE seems to rarely sign anyone from the Japanese tryouts.
I don't know if I'd agree that Shida has declined recently I think it's more that she wrestles for promotions that really aren't the best at showcasing talents.  In WAVE everyone seems to half ass most of their matches and theres no real direction , meaning most of the matches don't really mean much. OZ isn't really much good either, and the style of wrestling they use really isn't the type that someone can stand out in

You may have a point, but I still have trouble seeing her manage her best at tryouts when she isn't already doing so in practice. Whats more as I said before I don't recall WWE really ever picking someone up in the Japanese tryouts.

I think Shida's been having some of the best matches of her career in WAVE and OZ. The matches with Mio and Hamada are two standout matches from her Wave Championship reign and her feud with Aja Kong in OZ produced one of the most brutal encounters you'll see in modern joshi.

Unlike most of the other joshi around, even Hiroyo, Shida's conventionally attractive and really has no problems with promoting herself/being promoted as such. Things might be a little different from when Takako was nearly signed but not terribly so that'll get her far.

So according to Enuhito Kana signed with the WWE a few weeks back. Thought it was surprising she was at Takeover, on camera with the announcers specifically talking about her so I guess that explains it. And why her name was spelled Kanna instead of Kana.

That was an unexpected surprise. She is probably the joshi wrestler who makes the most sense to join with her looks and talent. Still I figured her style might be off putting to them.

Akira Hokuto took to her blog to explain that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be going into surgery tomorrow. It is a bad case that will require her entire right breast to be removed. She will also have to be under observation for the next few months to make sure the cancer hasn't spread.

Hikari Minami is returning to wrestling on 27/11. For a new company called Apple Star Wrestling, which is run by an entertainment company of the same name and will probably not be a very regular thing if I had to guess. Though I'm not sure, I'm getting the feeling from her twitter that this is more of a full time comeback and not a one time deal (and really, what sense would that make for her anyway). Also noticed from her twitter that she has attended a couple of Ice Ribbon and Gatoh Move shows this year. I'm certainly interested to see if she stays, and if she returns to IR again or joins back with Emi. Would be a decent comeback to balance all the retirements.

Also Hikari's twitter is @minahika_fusion if someone's curious.

If anyone cares, the Apple Star show is a week away. Hikari's return match is a singles against Ayako Hamada, which is promoted as the double main event funnily. The actual main event is another Onita match against Yoshiaki Fujiwara and whoever. Another notable update would be that Hikari said she won't be returning to Ice Ribbon even though it was her former home. Still don't know if she'll become a part of this project, assuming "Apple Star Wrestling" becomes a regular thing, or what. Sakura, Riho and Seina are all at Gatoh Move so I'd at least expect her to make appearances there. Although her closest contact in wrestling seems to be Micro, so she might as well settle in the scummy indies.

Yoshiko resurfaced as a second in the main event of today's SEAdLINNNG show. I figured this would happen sooner or later.

And she did absolutely nothing.

Why even bother?

Buzz? It could be a sign of things to come or it could just be nothing at all.

If you're gonna bring someone like this back, you better go all out with it.

Having her out there as a second, coming out in the middle of a match, no angle or whatever, she's just Nanae's friend, that's not all out. This buzz won't last

I'm surprised it took this long and that there wasn't an angle to it.

Obviously the translations are shit, but it seems like Yoshiko is interested in returning from yesterday's Tokyo Sports interview.

Also, sounds like Satomura is upset about Yoshiko's return. 100% sure this is a work.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was actually upset. I just also think money tends to kill down people's annoyances in these types of situations.

So Ray has a malignant brain tumor that's inoperable because it spread to her nerves. It was caught before it got to grade IV but still.

So what do people  think about Asuka's/Kana's recent twitter comments about Joshi? Basically that it can't get popular on a  global level, is generally not that good, and what she is doing in NXT/WWE surpasses what is going on in the Joshi scene.
