Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling
« on: May 23, 2012, 11:37:17 PM »

After Emi Sakura left Ice Ribbon, she free-lanced for a while, but all that time she was brewing some new projects. Her vision is to bring joshi puroresu to all of Asia, starting with...Thailand! After defeating Kaori Yoneyama in JWP, in the stipulation match, Kaori also joined Gatoh Move.

Since then, they have both been recruiting and training in Thailand. Please support them if you can, by checking out their fantastic matches between Kaori and Emi, on Youtube, like their page on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, buy their beautiful t-shirt if it becomes available, etc.!

Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling is touted as the first pro-wrestling promotion in Thailand!

Wow~! That's incredibly ambitious. It was such a "far out" proclamation that most people thought she was kidding.

Changing the lives of women through pro wrestling. Incredible.

They seem to be struggling a bit, trying to build the 1st pro-wres promotion in Thailand. All the people who have come to train so far are men. They've allowed them to come and train to get the word out, but you can't build a joshi puroresu promotion with all man lol! I hope they will get some committed female recruits soon!

I noticed that in the training video. It's hard to reach girls with such a "masculine" concept especially in a country where pro-wrestling is near non-existent. Maybe they'd have luck with mid to low level female athletes/fighters.

They should have came to the US and set up shop. :(

Awesome!  I hope they post some of the footage on their youtube account.

Sakura blogged that a singles match with Kandori is her dream match.  Hopefully, an event like this will lead to that match happening for her at some point.

Here's another Sakura/Yoneyama exhibition match.  The "ring" here looks to be about 6x6.

I can't help the guy who posted a few months ago about if/when Gatoh Move is appearing in Thailand.

However, I can tell you that apparently Riho's reason for leaving Ice Ribbon probably wasn't really her studies, as she showed u at Ichigaya not long after her final Ice Ribbon match and joined Gatoh Move.  I think it's pretty apparent her loyalty is to Emi.

She did say from the get-go that she was joining Gatoh Move and that was the reason she was leaving.

C'mon ladies who wanna be wrestlers! Check out the announcement from Gatoh Move:

Quote
I don't know if any girls or women in this group want to be wrestler and trained with Emi but now we welcome girls from around the world. Only girls/women will get 300 baht per day after training plus a chance to wrestle in Japan. (Anyway, there is some rules for trainees to get 300 baht). Thailand has a low living cost. I wish this is of a choice for you.

Also, user apocalypse0920 has quality video of two of the Gatoh Meet shows.  Gatoh Move must be cool with fancams, so that's good for western fans.

I was having a little trouble with context while translating the last show, so a couple of the names might not be totally accurate.  "Kyounin" might be "Annin" instead; this is one of Haru Miyako's UMA Army members.  "Soregashi" might be "Nanigashi" instead in the last match; this character is obviously played by Masa Takanashi.

Also, random LLPW-X appearance!
