Noticed no thread for Lin...or is it Rin...Bylon from SMASH & thought I should start one.

Only seen her a few times on DVD but she shows potential, charisma & LOVE that "Elvis-like" jumpsuit she wears *haha

Anybody know more about her? Never heard of her or seen her before SMASH?

in addition to her twitter (which is @SMASH_Lin) she's also got a proper blog at sportsnavi:  http://www.plus-blog.sportsnavi.com/smash_rin/

more proof that she's RAY, if she sees a little kid with anything mask-like over it's head, she posts it.

I love your avatar Oni. I liked Ray but she's captured my imagination as Lyn Byron. It's probably the white leather jumpsuit. Like some of the new generation of joshi she works with guys just as easy as with women.

it was kind of like the mask she wore was a charisma inhibitor, and like something from a cheesy over-rated anime title *coughBleachcough* she took it off and her charisma levels exploded through the roof.  Also the jumpsuit.

She reminds me of the recently retired Human Tornado in terms of ring attire and charisma, except Lin has her own spin on things with that kick-ass jumpsuit.

Human Tornado retired? I hope he's ok, health wise. I didn't see the entire match but she freaking flattened Shuri with a, sky twister press, plus she does it better than anyone I've ever seen. Asari's was cool cause she had no control off where she was going to land, lyn's is just awesome with perfect rotation and splat effect.

to be fair, Lin's sky twister press wouldn't be as good if Asari didn't lay down the foundations for it...Asari's was so out of control because I think she was still figuring it out as she went along.

But yeah, Lin's sky twister press is hot like fire, she's got it so on lock.

I remember seeing some Lady's GONG scans of ASARI teaching it to two people. By the end of her career, ASARI didn't use it much but when she did, it landed.

In Asari's case, she would over-rotate whenever she does the move during her Zenjo, but overtime, she grew accustomed to it and perfected her execution. It's crucial for a wrestler to maintain control on the revolutions of the body before he/she sustains severe injury.

She did knock herself and Candy Okutsu out in AJW.

Lack of control over movements always equals injury. That's how Go broke Tanahashi's jaw with a moonsault.
Edit: Forgot about Tenzan knicking Nagata out with a moonsault and Juventud smashing peoples' faces with a 450.

Me and my babies favorite wrestler. Her style is awesome and she's more than a simple high-flying wrestler since i've seen her bust out some vicious chops and kicks and some pretty badass loking suplexes. I also like the Lin Bairon gimmick cause it's a gimmick 180 and it's awesome and a lot of Ray/Lin's natural charisma shines through. It reminds me of how when Dos Caras, Jr unmasked and a lot of his charisma and good looks shone through.

Edit: Also, Starscream, don't forget Billy Kidman giving Chavo Gurrero a grade 2 concussion with the Shooting Star Press.

Dare I mention Kurt Angle shattering Bob Holly's elbow on Sunday Night Heat back at '00 or '01? Also, there was that time where my girl Fukawa nearly caved Okutsu's skull in with a Lionsault at the Opening Virgin show.

She does have issues with deciding whether to keep her white jumpsuit zipped or unzipped.  Her zips are very emphatic.

I don't particularly care for her. I liked her when she was Ray, I don't like her now. I also don't really like any of the womens' matches in SMASH. They fail to grab my attention.

I also believe it's Lin Bai Ron because it's some kind of attempt at a Chinese-like name.

Yea I kept trying to find a translation for it, and seems there's a few different variations. Byron and Bairon doesn't sound Chinese does it. Hey is she really born in Hong Kong or is that her gimmick's POB?

That's her gimmick? I didn't know, I just figured anything with "Lin Bai" in it was supposed to sound Chinese.
Do you think they mean "Rin" instead of "Lin" since "ren" (it's pronounced the same as "rin") is pinyin for "person"? [/offtopic]

Ren(Rin) Bai Long? Could that be what they mean because it's the only thing that makes sense. Flying? Dragon Person?

She's a Zainichi Korean in real life.

Her current name is written  リン・バイロン.

Strict katakana of her name would be:

リ = ri
ン = n

バ = ba
イ = i
ロ = ro
ン = n

The reason it could be "Lin" is that it's written in Katakana thus signifying a foreign word. (No La, Li, Lu, Le, Lo character in Japanese.)

That reminds me of LinLin. They did a mini moni song that went TELEPHONE RING RING RING and she was like ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME?!

Her real name is Qián Lín so I think It's supposed to be Lin Bai Ron or something.

"Rin" is still the correct way to spell "Ren" because they are pronounced the same, only the romanization is different. "Ron" is not a word in mandarin? or cantonese. But it's not like it'd actually be something intelligible in Chinese. Ron=Long could make sense because^& Chinese characters end up named that. I think I'll just call her Ren Bai Long. ..wait, wasn't there a character in Shaman King with the same name?

that's why it's a little surprising why John Morrison isn't that injury-prone

and the Japanese often have issues pronouncing words with the letter "L" (in the same vein that the Chinese have issues with the letter "R")
