Kana Pro 2 is announced for 1/10 in Shinjuku FACE. There's no card yet, but she did release a list of wrestler appearing.

Looks like Mio & Io will be back in Japan for the show.

Jeff Lynch says that he's inquired about Kana's 1st Produce show from 04/29/10 and has been told, repeatedly, that it was never released on DVD

It totally was. My friend hasn't been on the same show with Kana in a while so she hasn't gotten to ask her yet, but I've seen dvd covers of it.

Found it. It's a 2 disc set. 5000 yen. I can get it, but I don't really want to fork out nearly 100 bucks for something I'm not super interested in watching. If enough people want it, I'll think about it.

Actually, it converts to about $60...a bit steep but not ridiculous, especially for a Kana fanatic like me

While I like that Kana can get some big indy names on her cards, her shows should be more Joshi-oriented. Especially considering during her manifesto she said she can pull off a better Joshi show than most others (at least that's what I got from it).

Kana's a joshi wrestler that hates joshi wrestling is what I took away from it.
This and the other shows she's booked in the past containing very few other joshi wrestlers and even fewer all joshi matches kind of supports that theory.

While it's not a conventional "joshi show" & features wrestlers I'm not famliar with...I'm a Kana "mark" & hoping to see it released on DVD

Still, haven't got her 1st show from 4/29/10 & might have to wait until I go to Japan in Dec/2011 to get it

We need more gender neutral wrestling, and I'm ecstatic SMASH seems to have taken a sharp turn in that direction and if Kana's show extends that idea, great.

It doesn't matter what country your in, female wrestlers will always overshadowed by their male counterparts, and that is why Joshi promotions exist, so they don't have to share the spotlight with the guys and can be taken seriously as wrestlers.

This is one reason why "womens' divisions" never work as anything other than a novelty attraction. there really was no "sharing" of the spotlight, women are considered "candles" while men are the real spotlight. Women may be on the card but the show will always be about the men first and foremost. Shimmer was created with this interesting conundrum in mind because having the show actually centered around women as the focal point changes everything and changes women into better wrestlers by putting the weight all on their shoulders for real. This is one of many reasons why joshi remained way ahead of other forms of womens' wrestling for decades, they ran their own shows.

Maybe SMASH will become something different but wrestling has never been about equality and most wrestling fan will never open their minds up to women being as important as men. Sad but true, this is why womens' promotions exist in the first place.

ACW is a gender neutral promotion in the US. No one, who is not on drugs, would ever call it "like WWE or TNA." They don't present male wrestling, or female wrestling, just wrestling. It seems SMASH is on the same road. Hell, HUSTLE did it too, and the upcoming Indie summit seems to be the same. This is new, and it's good and seems to be working fine. Maybe not every promotion can do it, but there's no reason to question a couple trying it in order to set themselves apart from the other 90832098023 promotions out there.
