I always get a kick out of Shuri's dancing to Sakura's theme music. The girl can be quite quirky if the opportunity presents itself.

She does have an off-beat spark about her. One to watch I reckon.

TAIJIRI, the way he's packaging his promotion and pushing his talent, is a genius.  If not for things like this, Shuri would probably just be "that chick that used to be KG and had those matches with that stiff bitch" instead of her own individual character.

it really worked that he didn't expand the joshi division at SMASH yet. they have to build it from the ground up and the best way to do it is to have at least ONE star then the rest would follow

I must admit to not thinking much of Syuri when I first saw her v Kana...but she's grown on me & there's no doubt she has charisma & personality.

Am I the only one seeing this?

Someone even commented on it on Shyuri's blog. ....

Not that it necessarily means they aren't related, but different last names.

Just thought it was neat that someone else (in Japan) noticed it. I pointed it out months ago and got no sold.

Me and my 1st cousins have different last names but we're totally blood relatives (winkingsmileyface.jpg).  *bwah

I'm not literate in Japanese, so I'm just guessing that the sash reads something like "Miss Don't Mistake My Tears For A Sign Of Weekness Because I Will Kick Into Next Week" or it could also say "I cuddle with a Hello Kitty in bed"

I know that was an attempt at humor, but as someone who is literate in Japanese, I thought I might as well provide the real meaning of the sash.

After watching her match against Yoneyama, I have become an official mark for Shuri. Great to see her getting more outside work lately as well.

The first Kana match and her match with Meiko were really good. Meiko was more of a showcase for Shuri but the Kana told a great story and really got you to think the longer she stayed in the match the better Shuri's chances were of winning. The counter high kick almost being like a flash knockout was such an awesome finish. I can't wait to see more of her feud with Lin Bairon.

I think her match with Kana definitely caught my attention. Syuri played the role of the fighting underdog fairly well.
