Who do y'all want to see us bring to America in the future, and why?

Chikayo Nagashima - because she's just as friggin' awesome as Portia Perez plus I'd love to see her work with her American twin sister (by different mothers), Daizee Haze.

Manami Toyota - because I believe most ladies' on the Shimmer roster would LOVE to wrestle her. I'm being totally unselfish here, of course

Who do y'all want to see us bring to America in the future, and why?

That's really open-ended. Are there any realistic restrictions? Or else we'll all just rattle off our favorites with basically "'nuff said" as the reason. That, and a lot of people will just say "Kana" with whatever cliche reason or "will have a good match with (insert wrestler's name here)." The best reason to bring Kana in is because she's so popular. Aside from that, I enjoy her matches, but I don't think she is really that versatile with what she can do with the rest of the roster.

I'll go with Yoneyama. She uses a lot of intricate transitions that SHIMMER fans will appreciate immediately. She's young and easily comes across as a babyface, which is something I think would mix with the current roster very well. She is athletically versatile in that I could see her tagging with several people (Ariel, LuFisto) or having good matches with several people (LuFisto, Haze, Eagles). I also see where return trips would make sense with her in order to avoid the one-shot cameo... though people suddenly retire lately out of the blue with regularity these days. Plus, I am sure fans here would love to see her get a push in some promotion. It's tough though because I just don't know how realistic she is.

My current favorites and the reason is "just because":

• Nanae Takahashi
• Meiko Satomura
• Emi Sakura
• Toshie Uematsu

For what it's worth, I think they all would have (or already have) good matches with Kong... but that probably says more about Kong than it does about them. The only problem with some of them for fans here is that I think we already have a perception of where they should be on the card. With Yoneyama, I think we'd all be more accepting of her debuting in the opening match and gradually working her way up the card like any other SHIMMER first-timer. With someone like Satomura, you might have SHIMMER fans who are like "who is that?" Whereas, if you told fans here that she was debuting with a title shot in the main event, we'd be like "that makes sense." That would seem to be the problem with someone like Toyota. With a name like that, even for people who don't watch joshi, how do you not have the entire weekend built around a celebration of her? SHIMMER has always been about SHIMMER; never about one wrestler. And I'm not saying don't bring Toyota in if you can, because if you can, that's historic!

Opening match? I'm pretty sure, most SHIMMER fans would be rather disappointed to see her do an opener. If you look at the April tapings, the earliest match the joshi wrestlers had on those cards, was Tomoka Nakagawa wrestling Mercedes Martinez in match #4 of Vol. 31. Plus, as a result of how well the joshis did at Berwyn, I'd say fans' expectations towards new Japanese talent will be pretty high.

Also, as soon as Dave Prazak will announce new wrestlers for the next tapings, most SHIMMER fans will try and get information about them, via YT and elsewhere. So they'll have an idea of what someone like Yoneyama is capable of and what she has accomplished and would certainly not want her to get the "rookie treatment".

Before any more new names are being dropped here, let me just state that I'd love to see each one of April's "Joshi Fab-4" back in September.

Yeah I'd like to continue seeing Ayumi, Hiroyo, Misaki & Tomoka since they're already involved and still have room to go up.

Other than that, Kana, Mio & Io I'd love to see in the US.

You all know how I feel about the veterans, but I'd be down for Satomura vs. Melissa.

Kana - She's toned down her style and is working safe now. She'd bring a really nice Battle Arts style, and just imagine Kana vs Madison, Sara, Melissa, Mercedes, or Nicole. The kicks, the submissions, the BITCHRAGE, my goodness it'd be epic. She's also made it public that she wants to work the US.

Meiko Satomura - She's said she wants to work the US, she's obvioiusly one of the best, and she could really have some sweet matches.

Yumi Oka - She's become so amazing just in this past year and could put on some really great stuff. Her and Jessie could be TEAM LEGS 

Kaori Yoneyama - SHe's just the most bubbly awesome wrestler going right now.

Emi Sakura - She's just too awesome for words. She's super fucking athletic, can mix in a bit of comedy, and is such a great trainer. She's seirously one of the top 5 best going today.

Yoshiko Tamura - She's just incredible and is retiring soon, so it'd be cool if we could bring her in before she does.

The Kanari Sisters - They're really great, have tons of personality, and have such a great grasp of psychology.

Ryo Mizunami - She's one of my favorites. She has a great use of legdrops, and all around big girl moves. She really knows how to build up a match and has great chemistry with Ohata.

MOeka Haruhi - She can team with Ohata, and she's improving at such a vast rate, and I think a few matches in America would be good for.

Toshie Uematsu - See Emi Sakura.

Kyoko Kimura - SHe wants to work in the US, has experience working with foreigners like Kong, Knox, Mschif, and Kraven. She has oodles of personality, is a great heel, is a great worker, and tags with Nakagawa in Japan.

Miyako Matsumoto - She's hilarious, cute as a button, and can do some nice work.

Aika Ando - See Miyako

Makoto - One of the most underrated workers, and she knows so well how to tell a story. Her whole career has been her telling a story of going from a scaredy cat to one of the top flight talents. She's just so much amazing sauce.

The Shirai Sisters - They speak perfect english because their mom is an interpreter, both are improving so much everyday, both have incredible offense, and with Io we'd get Shimmer's first top rope springboard moves and Shooting Star presses.

Aja Kong - The Amazing Kongs in Shimmer? Hell to the Fuck to the Yes

Chikayo Nagashima - Just watch her match with Tamura and you'll learn all you need.

Cherry - SHe's soooo underrated. She's so hilarious but can also work, do lucha, do technical wrestling, and throw in a ton of suplexes.

I have to agree that Yoneyama would be a great person to bring in for Shimmer, however she is contracted with JWP, and I'm not sure how they feel about their workers going overseas.

As for others, I would say the majority of Passion Red (that is, Nanae, Natsuki, and Ray... maybe Hotta too) would work well in Shimmer.

Speaking of Nicole, I was surprised that she didn't wrestle one of the joshis in a singles match, like Ohata or Matsumoto. Her match from SHIMMER #23 vs. the Haze - that wasn't SHIMMER, that was Arsion 1999 main event material.

Shirais vs. Ninjas would be epic, please make it a series of matches, a tag team feud...

This is #1 for me too. I want to see where the girls who came last time can go before SHIMMER gets 5 more wrestlers to their roster, which  is big already.

My point was that anything short of debuting in the main event or at least co-main eventing would be awkward placement for someone like Satomura... particularly for fans here. Match No. 4 on the show still sounds too early for Satomura. Yoneyama could appear just about anywhere on the card, which makes her much easier to fit into an already established roster.

And I'd bet a fair amount of Shimmer fans do not know who Yoneyama is. Remember how much Ryan was razzed on this board for his preview of the foursome joshi debut in Shimmer? And he's an example of a fan who made an effort to get to know them.

Also, you would be surprised how many U.S. wrestling fans are down on anything that is not in English, and won't even give it a chance. That said, I like the idea of the Shirai Sisters too. But booking wise, I'd say keep them away from the Canadian Ninjas.

And I agree that the four who appeared most recently should remain a priority. They have some stuff to continue that is good for the series.

Ayumi, Hiroyo, Tomoka, and Misaki will all be back. We're simply going to add more joshi talent next time and rotate out some of the Americans on the undercard to make room. Thanks for all of the suggestions, everybody!

Yeah and add Daizee to them as a member. She has the gear, and also the whole rasta/jamaican gimmick already. She'd fit right in.

Not sure how American fans will react to Emoto. She's a great wrestler but she kind of looks like a dude.

Nanae Takahashi: Seriously one of the best girls imo, but if you booked her, you might not be able to book Kana.

Kayoko Haruyama: JWP's ace, she's really awesome and creative and always bumps her ass off for anyone.

Manami Toyota: Granted she's not what she used to be, but it'd still be cool and might be somewhat like when they brought in Kobashi to ROH where even if the match isn't so great, the atmosphere would be electric.
