Reportedly she's looked really good in her first "real" matches.

This is true. Both she and the other rookie Tsukushi look good.

So they just gave her Ichii Mai's old costume? Except she's much shorter she must be swimming in it.

At the very least they've got the market cornered on cute young girls in wrestling. Now if they could just pick up some who are at least, say, 16...they're going to get people like me in serious trouble, haha. And I'm also impressed with how her & Tsukushi have done early on, nice to see they're not getting buried nonstop in matches-Tsukushi lasted until the end of that 6 woman elimination at Golden Ribbon and got a couple of eliminations, which really impressed me.

With NEO closing down what will happen to Ice Ribbon? I am still unclear about this is Ice Ribbon a part of NEO or it own promotion?

They've always been affiliated with NEO but it's definitely quite seperate.  They started off as a kind of after school thing for young girls run by Sakura but it's organically grown beyond that point.  I think that their recent move to their own web domain, rather than being part of the NEO one is a sure sign that they've grown beyond any kind of connection that would mean that they are affected by NEO's closing.

The fact that the NEO girls and Koda are saying that they never really built anything for the future in their ten years also shows that Ice Ribbon isnt part of NEO because Ice Ribbon definitely has done.
I may drop you on your head

I don't think the web domain thing is an issue, they weren't the only promotion who's part of that ne07.jp domain (the independent promotion Freedoms-which Jun Kasai is part of-is also part of it). Even without any affiliations I think Ice Ribbon has positioned itself well for the future-a nice talent roster, they're not overly dependent on outsiders, and they have what I think is a good schedule of events (run at the school twice a week, go to Itabashi Green Hall or Osaka Minami Move On Arena about once a month, 1-2 Korakuen events a year).

Only because 99% of the time they only run tiny tiny buildings. No way they could draw for K-hall or any other big show with just their in house crew.

I'm sure they'd be fine without them for the smaller shows but even for the school events they still usually bring in 1 or 2 outside wrestlers if for no other reason then to give the kids someone to learn from.

They actually did an outsider-free event last Saturday at the school, only their girls. They're bringing in more for their event tomorrow, they posted the card:
Emi Sakura vs. Sayaka Obihiro
Hamuko Hoshi vs. Chii Tomiya
Chou-un Shiryu (Independent/Freelancer) vs. Keita Yano (BattlARTS)
Hiroyo Matsumoto & Tsukasa Fujimoto vs. Makoto & Hikaru Shida

I expect that 3rd match to be a comedy match having seen some of Shiryu's prior matches.

Ice Ribbon participation announced by DDT for Saturday's (5/16) Union Pro event (Kitasenju Theater 1010):
Miyako Matsumoto & GENTARO vs. Seiya Morohashi & Cherry
Emi Sakura & Masa Takanashi vs. Ricky Fuji & Hirosi (?)

Ice Ribbon has come up with the name for their 9/23 Korakuen event:

According to my translation, it's "Horsemen Of Ribbon".
Eh? Wouldn't Horsewomen make more sense?

Additionally, I know someone here will be able to put this new website header they made to good use:
Puroresu's true Odd Couple-the cosplay cutie & the hardcore psycho she so admires. A match made in heaven...or as Jun would say, “Hiladelhia” (Philadelphia).

New match added for 6/5 at Itabashi Green Hall: After "Mitsukinatsuki" (Mickey Oji & Natsuki*Taiyo) challenged for the International Ribbon Tag Team Titles but Hiroyo Matsumoto & Chou-un Shiryu objected, it is the opinion of present titleholder Miyako Matsumoto that the teams face off to determine the next challenger. So it's Oji & Natsuki vs. Shiryu & Hiroyo, winner gets the next title shot.

Emi announced that she will have a press conference on 5/29 2PM where she will announced a new women's pro wrestling company. She was very cryptic on TWITTER where she announced it.

LADY'S RING mobile covered it and Kakutolog has what info there is including the Tweets.

http://kakutolog.cocolog-nifty.com/kakuto/2010/05/post-1c84.html

What this means for the future of ICE RIBBON is uncertain, but Emi is definitely somebody I can get behind to bring joshi pro into the future.

Completely agreed. Emi actually is better business savy than most of the other women, and she actually knows how to book to a show you want to see. She also has every indy sleaze connection in the world, and is an amazing trainer.

Makoto retweeted her asking if the ICE RIBBON wrestlers will be involved. She responded that their is "zero staff" and "zero wrestlers" and that she doesn't have a logo though a name was decided.

NEO's President Koda also tweeted that he's anxious for this press conference as he has no idea what to expect.

She posted "全国へ届け女子プロレス" (zenkoku he todoke joshi puroresu) which is "country-wide notification of women's pro wrestling."

I guess we'll all know tomorrow...

My understanding is that this "new" group called 19pro is just going to stream live Ice Ribbon matches on USTREAM.  I think the idea is that they will stream matches on certain days starting at 19:00 Tokyo time (which is 6AM Eastern/5AM Central/4AM Mountain/3AM Pacific for the North Americans).

I think they streamed their "pre-raising an army" show, with a match between Sayaka Obihiro and Kazumi Shimouma.  I didn't see it and don't know if there is any way to if you weren't watching live.

www.ustream.tv/channel/19pro

http://twitter.com/19pro

EDIT: They put up results on the Ice Ribbon page.  They claimed 505 viewers, with Shimouma defeating Obihiro in 7:59 with a dropkick.  The next match will be Obihiro vs Makoto on June 1st.  Us creeps on the other side of the world better set our alarms!  *Oni*
