Modern Joshi / WEEKLY PRO WRESTLING's Joshi Extra
« on: January 31, 2012, 10:41:21 AM »
Weekly Pro Wrestling (週刊プロレス) came out with an extra addition to their magazine today. It's a sexy joshi themed mini-book called the "Erokawa" Joshi Pro Wrestling special.

週刊プロレスEXTRA! 「エロカワ女子プロレスラー大特集」

"Erokawa" is a conjunction of the word "Erotic" and "Kawaii" so it basically means "Sexy while being cute."

I only found some screen caps posted by promoters...

Wrestler Love / Kellie Skater: Rate Tank in Japan
« on: December 27, 2011, 11:03:09 AM »
Kellie Skater is doing an extended tour of Japan with S-OVATION. So rather than bury her in the Gaijin thread, I though I'd give her a stand-alone thread. As part of a booking office instead of a promotion, she'll get a lot of work as she's only been in Japan for a week and has already done 3 shows...

1st show was the JOSHI4HOPE on 12/24 where she teamed with Tomoka vs. Hailey Hatred and Rabbit Miyu.

Directly after she went to REINA, where she teamed with Kyoko Kimura against Aki Kanbayashi and Saya.

Her team won when they drank Kellie's protein shake, powered up and won. Aki complained about the use of the protein shake to referee Tommy to no avail.

Next came her STARDOM debut on Christmas versus Io. Fuka posted her thoughts on this match, saying she was looking forward to Kellie's match since she didn't even know Australia had women wrestlers.

She said Kellie was "Kawaii katta desu" (Pretty). She said Rossy Ogawa liked her very much as she new he would since Kellie is "Kirei and Srimmu" (Beautiful & slim), and said she was laughing when he was watching her matches before and commenting, "She good don't you think? And she's entertaining too!"

She said she laughed because she knew why he really liked her.

Hiroyo was Kellie's second for the match, and tried to pass her the protein shake but Io was able to block it a few times before Kellie got it and powered up.

Fuka said the fans really enjoyed the match which Io won.

If you look in the background of this pic, you can see the reaction on the faces of both Ogawa & Fuka at ringside to Kellie's "protein power up."

After the match Io helped Kellie to her feet and the two embraced as Kellie got a nice round of applause from the packed Shin-Kiba 1st Ring fans.

After the STARDOM show Kellie posted on FaceBook that she went to dinner with the S-OVATION President his girlfriend & friend and then they went bowling. She said it was a good Christmas.

She also went to the STARDOM year-end party the next day where there was a karaoke contest between the STARDOM roster (she wasn't on any of the teams, though Hiroyo was) and then she went to Roppongi to keep the party going until 3AM.

Her TWITTER is here, where she updates about her trip - https://twitter.com/ratetank

Hikaru, formally of AJW & SUN is returning with a new promotion.

HAPPY HOUR!!

So it seems like DIANA plus freelancers.

Hikaru is returning to pro wrestling, but not as a performer only as a manager. She has a sponsor called AIB Group (www.ai-bank.jp), and is getting promotional help from DIANA and FIRST ON STAGE.

http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/fight/headlines/20110725-00000019-spnavi-fight.html

I guess she saw Nanae make a run with STARDOM and wants to have a go...instead with the seniors and shoppai gaijin.

Wrestler Love / Yuzuki Aikawa (boing-boing)
« on: August 23, 2010, 01:49:43 PM »

Well Rossy Ogawa has found his next idol girl, and it's gravure model Yuzuki Aikawa.

She's making her pro wrestling debut on 10/31 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring for her "Yuzu Pon Matsuri"

Her website is here - http://yuzupon-ring.p-kit.com/

She also did a small YouTube video introducing herself and the event poster.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--iGrQlaqhk

She's pretty hot and has bigger boobs than Kana~

Kinda looks a little like Fuka in the face too I think.

Do a Google Image search of her name in Japanese, 愛川ゆず季, there's tons of sexy photos of her.

But can she wrestle? Doubt it, but who knows.

There's a page on her site that shows her practicing MMA with Fuka, working out and doing pro wrestling in Shin-Kiba with the girls who train there (the old Mariko crew).

If anything she seems flexible, and might actually be athletic...

Modern Joshi / Kana's Joshi Manifesto
« on: August 12, 2010, 12:32:02 PM »

Obviously Kana's manifesto was printed in Weekly Pro Wrestling, but the guy at BlackEye2 listed the 5 topic points without her detailed explanation.

http://beye2.com/item_25711.html

She wrote the whole thing in very loose conversational language which has made it difficult for even some Japanese to dis-cipher her meaning. This annoyed people as she basically is wearing her contempt of current joshi on her sleeve.

Here it is in Japanese:

マニフェスト

  <1> 「無きに等しい女子レスラーの存在価値」の見直し
 <2> 「個性(キャラクター)の確率できぬ者は去ね」
 <3> 「女子プロレスファンにだけ通用するプロレスは即刻やめるべし」
 <4> 「レスラー同士の慰め合い、傷の舐め合いはするな」
 <5> 「嗚呼、無情。偽物の技の救出」

And here it is translated (I had to get a Japanese friends to help me since it's very confusing how it's written):

1) Review the value of current joshi wrestlers and dismiss those worth nothing.

2) Leave the business if you cannot establish your own identity and character.

3) Stop using a wrestling style that only appeals to joshi puroresu fans.

4) Don't coddle each other, don't share your negative attitude/experience, and understand/respect each other.

5) Stop doing those obviously fake moves

Obviously this has made the joshi veteran establishment hate Kana even more. One thing is for sure the girl has HUGE balls and is very confident...

« on: May 14, 2010, 07:54:50 PM »
This is a company in Fukuoka, Japan. Fukuoka is on the northern tip of Kyushu Island, which is the far south island, so it's a hike from Tokyo.

http://www.furusato-pro.jp/

The word "furusato" means hometown or native place. So you can call you city, state, country, town etc. "furusato."

Io posted on her blog that she'd be on this show. But Misaki Ohata tweeted that she was "Getting on an airplane for the first time alone...daijoubu ka na?" for the same show. It's Io Shirai & Misaki Ohata vs. Mio Shirai & Kyoko Kimura.

Misaki posted "Fukuoka nau!!" about an hour ago so she's there.

Here's the full card.

Modern Joshi / SUMMER DREAM 2008
« on: June 26, 2008, 02:13:29 PM »
I only recently got wind of this, maybe it's been reported already...

Daily Sports is commemorating their 60th Anniversary of publication by running two Joshi Puro shows this summer. From the looks of it the primary company behind this is JWP but various promotions are taking part.

There will be two shows, an "Osaka Convention" on 7/21 in Osaka at the IMP Hall.
Then a "Tokyo Convention" on 8/3 in Korakuen Hall. This is the JWP show I was planning on going to as it's a 12PM and the ZERO1 "Fire Festival" finals will be later that night also in Korakuen.

Here's the poster.

As you can see there are lots of veterans on board for this one. And the big news is that it appears the Jumping Bomb Angels will come out of retirement for these shows to take part in a DSWTC (DAILY SPORTS WOMAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP) tournament.

http://www.daily.co.jp/ring/2008/03/12/0000870867.shtml

This article says one of the tag teams will be Yoshiko Tamura & Azumi Hyuga - http://www.daily.co.jp/ring/2008/03/12/0000870886.shtml

And this one says Dump and Condor are another team - http://www.daily.co.jp/ring/2008/03/12/0000870861.shtml

Also, DAILY SPORTS held the announcement press conference at COLOSSEO and the owner posted about it on his blog with this photo.

He said the Cards were announced but I haven't found them yet. He mentions that Hotta and Toyota were also there, and marked out a bit about the Jumping Bomb Angels being there as like everybody it was a surprise. He also said there will be a Lady Tiger Mask on the show.

He also said unlike regular JWP press conferences, this time there were a ton of Daily Sports personnel present as well and there was lots of detail paid attention to.

I see Arisa is in the photo next to Tamura, I wonder if that means she'll sub if Hyuga can't go by next month.
