We're about to release the first retail SHIMMER DVD title in the United Kingdom. It's a compilation of matches from Vols. 1 through 5 (filmed during 2005 and 2006), titled "Best of SHIMMER: Phase One." We're adding a "Before They Were Stars: Women of Wrestling" spin to it, picturing Beth and Kong on the cover prominently to try to move more copies in retail to fans who watch weekly wrestling TV shows.

Among the matches featured on the UK release are Beth Phoenix vs. Allison Danger, Mercedes Martinez vs. Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze vs. Lacey, Cheerleader Melissa vs. MsChif (Falls Count Anywhere), Amazing Kong vs. Nikki Roxx, Rebecca Knox vs. Daizee Haze (2 out of 3 Falls), plus more. All of us at SHIMMER are ecstatic about finally breaking through in the UK market.

August 4th is the release date for this title in the UK.

Ring of Honor will debut in the state of Florida this weekend, with two consecutive nights of huge events at the Orlando Downtown Recreation Complex (649 W. Livingston Street) in Orlando, FL. Bell time on Friday night, March 28th is 8pm for “Dragon Gate Challenge II.” Bell time on Saturday night, March 29th is 7:30pm for “Supercard of Honor III.” Tickets will be available at the door each night. This Saturday at the Manhattan Center in New York City, Ring of Honor presents its Sixth Anniversary Show. As part of the historic event, all of the titles recognized by ROH will be on the line!

Sara Del Rey became the first SHIMMER Champion on June 2, 2007 by defeating Lacey in the finals of a sixteen woman tournament held in suburban Chicago. Along with Sara and Lacey, the semi-finals of the tournament included "Dark Angel" Sarah Stock and Daizee Haze. In the time since winning the belt, Del Rey has since defended the title against both Lacey and Stock, but The Haze has yet to receive a title match.

The rivalry between Sara Del Rey and Daizee Haze dates back to the main events of SHIMMER Volumes 2 and 3. Daizee and Sara were the last two wrestlers in a four way elimination match on Volume 2, which saw Death Rey pin The Haze following the Royal Butterfly. The Volume 3 main event was a singles contest between the two, which saw Sara yet again pin Daizee's shoulders to the mat, with a bridging German suplex.

Though Del Rey and Haze haven't met in SHIMMER competition since Volume 3, their athletic rivalry has continued on in ROH rings across the circuit. The two first met in ROH competition at Destiny during June of 2006, in a match which saw Sara pick up the victory. They were on opposite sides of a tag team contest at Fifth Year Festival: NYC in February of 2007, where the Daizee's feud against Lacey caused her to brawl to the locker room, leaving her tag team partner Alexa Thatcher to face two women by herself and ultimately lose the match.

While Daizee's long running war against Lacey was perhaps her biggest focus in ROH (a feud based on pure hatred), she never forgot about Sara Del Rey and the true challenge of going hold for hold, move for move against her in technical wrestling battles.

Despite Daizee's inability to pull out a victory against Del Rey for a full year in either SHIMMER or ROH competition, The Haze showed her heart and determination by finally scoring a pinfall on Sara at This Means War II in Long Island during April of 2007.

At ROH's first PPV taping Respect Is Earned in May of 2007, Daizee and Sara had the honor of appearing on the card in one of the bonus matches for the DVD release of the event. Sara was able to avenge her This Means War II loss by defeating The Haze in Manhattan. The two were also on opposite sides of a dream partner tag team match on the Man Up DVD bonus matches during September of 2007 in Chicago, as Daizee and Amazing Kong downed Sara and Lacey.

ROH's third PPV, Undeniable in October of 2007, saw history made as Del Rey and Haze were featured in the first women's bout on ROH PPV! The impromptu match was put together by Del Rey's agent Larry Sweeney just moments before it took place, and as a result the SHIMMER Championship was not at stake. The match came to a conclusion when Del Rey was distracted by Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero brawling at ringside, leaving Daizee with the opening to score a surprising rollup and earn the pinfall victory on PPV!

The Haze has proven she can pin Sara Del Rey on more than one occasion, and this Saturday night in NYC, Daizee gets her first shot at Sara Del Rey's SHIMMER Championship! Both Sara Del Rey and Daizee Haze have been integral parts of both the ROH and SHIMMER rosters for several years now, bringing the best athletic women's wrestling action each and every time. Will Daizee be able to defeat Sara again this Saturday night, this time with the title on the line, or will Del Rey be successful in her fifth defense of the SHIMMER Championship? That question will be answered this Saturday night!

The SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES DVD series began filming in late 2005. The first taping featured 18 of the most skilled female wrestlers from around North America, and built the foundation for subsequent tapings. Two new SHIMMER DVD titles were released at www.ROHwrestling.com last week! They are Volumes 13 & 14 in the series.

Volume 13 is the DVD filmed at the tail end of the June tapings at the Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL. It features a tag team main event as SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Rey teams with Nikki Roxx to face The Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew of Lacey & Rain, the first Dog Collar Chain Match in SHIMMER history between Allison Danger and Cindy Rogers, "Dark Angel" Sarah Stock takes on Daizee Haze for the first time anywhere in wrestling, and a lot more.

Volume 14 is the show held during July at the Citrus County Auditorium in Inverness, FL. It features Sara Del Rey's first defense of the SHIMMER Championship against Lacey, a rematch from Volume 5 of Nikki Roxx vs. Amazing Kong, Daizee Haze vs. MsChif for the first time in SHIMMER competition, Rain vs. Cheerleader Melissa, the Danger/Rogers war continues to wage on in a 2 out of 3 falls bout, plus more!

THE HAZE GRANTED SHIMMER TITLE SHOT FOR 2/23 IN NYC!
----------------------------------------------------------

If you saw Ring of Honor's "Undeniable" pay-per-view broadcast, you witnessed the first women's bout in ROH PPV history between SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Rey and Daizee Haze.

The SHIMMER Title was not on the line in this impromptu match, put together by Del Rey's agent Larry Sweeney just moments before it took place. Toward the end of the match, an altercation took place at ringside between Claudio Castagnoli and members of Sweet & Sour Inc. which caused Sara to be being taken off guard as Daizee scored the upset pinfall victory with a rollup.

As a result of The Haze pinning the SHIMMER Champion on ROH PPV, both SHIMMER and ROH officials have agreed that Daizee is now in line to receive a SHIMMER Title match, something she has yet to be granted since the establishment of the championship last summer. Daizee Haze's opportunity will come at ROH's huge "Sixth Anniversary Show" on February 23rd at the Manhattan Center in New York City!

Can The Haze beat Del Rey once again, and become the second ever SHIMMER Champion on February 23rd? Two of the most prominent Women of Honor will battle for the belt as part of ROH's "Sixth Anniversary Show!" Details are below.

Nadia quit the wrestling business in early 2002. Her last appearance was for the ill-fated CRUSH, which lasted all of one show. She wrestled in a tag match on the CRUSH show, so thankfully her last match was not against me during our IWA Mid-South feud. :-)

Her gimmick in CRUSH was "Innocence."

The Lacey/Del Rey match on Vol. 14 isn't as long as you heard... but it is pretty lengthy and was a fitting main event/first title defense.

The next ROH PPV's womens match is three times as long.
