Guess Roxie Cotton made a good impression with Hiroyo.  Maybe we'll see her at SHIMMER soon...

Muscle Girl! Ep 3:

A much better episode than the last one.  This one has more Hikaru Shida in it, but the focus is on the character of Mai, who's Shiratori Pro's Ace.  Seems she has a man problem....no spoilers, but yeah that guy is a problem.  Kimu reveals himself as Ji-Oh to Asuza, who totally knows already because of a newspaper.  And more dastardly deeds being threatened by those evil Aoibana Pro villians.

Sukeban Deka was a 70's series about the queen of deliquents being forced to work for a secret government agency to fight youth crime so her mother won't be executed.  She does so with a yo-yo!  It's quite good, they did a dorama version that was pretty faithful (folder with all ten eps: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=K8OX6D2D) and then they did an OVA a few years ago starring Aya Matsuura and other hello!project girls that wasnt bad.

Episodes 3 and 4 of "Muscle Girl!" were released.  3 on Monday, 4 yesterday, and based on their status tracker, they're typesetting episode 5 as we speak.  If they get it out before Friday, they'll be caught up to Japanese release.  I'll post a review once I watch them.

Throw her up there with Tomoka and Daizee and call them Revolution Americana or something.  I can always dream.

That's a damn fine dream, though

I really enjoy Phineas and Ferb. It's very quirky and the running gags never seem to get old. And most of the songs are pretty catchy. I think it's the only cartoon that Disney is still making.

^this

and about the CN toons now, the quality overall has been improving greatly.  I'm not that into The Regular Show or Chowder, but they're better than the stuff from the early -aughts, that's for sure.  If only adult swim would get off this live action "comedy" show kick they keep trying and failing miserably at.  Seriously, nothing Tim and Eric have ever done has been funny, in fact, the only live action thing they've ever shown that was even remotely funny was "Look Around You".  The rest of it was hipster drek that only hipsters said was funny so they could tell people that "they just don't get it" whenever you point out that it's all less funny when high than sober and that's pretty much seals the deal if you ask me.

Great article, but if I could make a correction, the chant is "MATSUMOTO! HIROYO! DESTROY!"  We use the Japanese name placement for the chant.

Try again, Maria.  There's plenty of reports out there now about how he had a "medical event" (probably a heart attack) and lost control of his vehicle causing the wreck that took his life.

Yeah... now she soudns like every other pop/punk band in Japan. GOLLBETTY had a great sound and I was really bummed when they broke up. Between GOLLBETTY breaking up and MidnightPumpkin having completely vanished there are fewer and fwer J-SKA bands I'm diggign these days. At least I still have SHAKALABBITS and Oreskaband...

James

Oh, I do love me some KawaiiCore, but part of what made GOLLBETTY so great was how they could blend ska and KawaiiCore together so seamlessly, and now that's gone and G-YUN seems to be going out of her way to fufill that Gwen Stefani/No Doubt comparison that she tried to distance herself from in GOLLBETTY's early days.

Meh.  I'm all about Versailles lately anyways
