I think Arisa at east participating in the rumored WWE tournament is likely. I'm hoping she shows up in Stardom.

Welcome. Its nice to see the occasional new member. Samurai & Gaora may not be available, but NJPW, WAVE, & Stardom do have websites which you can stream shows from.

Stardom 6/16/16 - Chelsea vs. Shanna
This was fairly rough at times, but generated some solid work. Chelsea's style is a bit older, but she does know what she is doing. She just lacks a much needed athleticism to make it work the best she could. She lags behind too much as she has trouble keeping up. Shanna works maybe just a pinch too hard and she ca make things little obvious. She wasn't so bad with that here though he could sell a little better. This would have been fairly good with a Chelsea who can keep up the pace. Unfortunately it falls short.

Stardom 6/16/16 - Kairi Hojo vs. Yoko Bito
Mostly a set up to show off Bito but not a bad one. Bito lacks a bit of spirit but didn't show any ring rust at all, showing a confidence in her role that even back in 2012 she was lacking at least on a consistent level. They clearly have big things in store for her going off of what she survived here. Realistically she only has 8 months over the current class of rookies so hopefully she steps up in the coming months. Still she definitely seems a few paces ahead of them which I wasn't sure of with the 4 years she has been away so I'm thinking a little more positively about Bito's future in Stardom.

Ozaki also challenged for a rematch and Rydeen Hagane challenged Arisa for the belt as well.

Stardom 9/5/15, Goddesses of Stardom - Io Shirai & Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Hudson Envy & La Rosa Negra
Hudson & Negra meshed well together as team making for some nice action all around from both teams. Good match.

Stardom 2/12/16, Goddesses of Stardom - Io Shirai & Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Viper & Kaitlin Diemond
Plenty of good action and set ups with Viper in the power/monster role. Good match all around. Diemond isn't much on her own, but she definitely had her best performance here playing as Viper's support. Its the first time the two really impressed me as a team. I'm a bit disappointed they didn't have more matches like this one.

Stardom 2/28/16 - Viper vs. Jungle Kyona
Short match, but a really nice performance by Kyona mostly taking a beating but getting to bust out a few impressive moments.

Stardom 3/6/16 - Kairi Hojo vs. Saori Anou
I found this fairly reminiscent of the style Nanae used for passion injection matches where she would skip pure vet beat down, give the rookie plenty of offense, yet still finish the match handily to show who is superior. Always loved those matches and this is no different. Its the best I had seen of Saori look up to this point.

Stardom 3/12/16 - Hiroyo Matsumoto & Jungle Kyona vs. Viper & Kaitlin Diemond
Similar to Kyona's performance against Viper two weeks before, but longer and with Hiroyo acting as a decent support. Thought this was a nice little match with Kyona starting to show just a bit more what she is capable of in spirit and action.

Stardom 3/12/16 - Io Shirai vs. Saori Anou
Io wrestled this one a bit more grounded, showing some light dickish tendencies before Anou started to surprise her, forcing her to work harder to put a rookie down. I really dug this one. I'm generally fond of when Io works from a position of power, and Anou continued to impress with her struggles and spirit. I really wish Anou was contracted to Stardom as i could see them doing a lot with her.

Stardom 3/12/16, High Speed Title - Mayu Iwatani (c) Momo Watanabe
I thought this was generally solid, probably Momo's best performance, but it wasn't really a title worthy match. Momo is still a bit too lacking in strikes, offense, & spirit. Its still ncie to see her having grown a bit from the last year or two. Still I'm not certain two or three of the rookie who debuted last year won't surpass her in a another year.

Stardom 2/21/16, High Speed Title - Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Evie
Kind of odd. I think Mayu hurt her back legit in this one, but despite some flubs from the damage it actually managed to add a lot of drama to the matcgh. Evie winning became a believable possibility and made for some good near falls and comebacks. Good match overall.

Stardom 2/21/16, Wonder of Stardom - Santana Garrett (c) vs. Kairi Hojo
The match was decent enough, but i still didn't feel much chemistry here. Santana just hasn't really adapted or even attempted to adapt to the style. Her stuff just doesn't work well with hard hitters who also happen to be half a foot smaller than her.

Stardom 2/21/16, World of Stardom - Io Shirai (c) vs. Viper
A simple power vs. speed & perseverance match. This was easily the bets Viper has looked in Stardom. Everything she did had some nice impact to it, and she spent most of the match with a bloody nose bit looking a bit more badass because of it. Io bumped around well and had some nice simple comebacks. the two just worked well together and built up some great moments. The finish was especially nice and makes me realize how ridiculously strong Io is. Damn good match that left me wanting to see more.

That is a shame. I was hoping Syuri might challenge for the belt.

Stardom 1/17/2015, High Speed Championship - Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Kay Lee Ray
Started off slower than expected but built into some solid action. Thought this was a step down from Mayu's match against Rosa Negra match, but still solid overall.

Stardom 1/17/2016, World of Stardom Championship - Io Shirai (c) vs. Kairi Hojo
This was weird for me. I thought the action was good. I thought here were some nifty moments and well built part. And the time actually passed by pretty well despite going around 30 minutes (probably more 27 with clipping). Yet with all of that I still didn't get as much out of this as I expected. It just didn't all come together in way that excited me. Maybe my expectations were too high, but right now I'm actually left thinking their match from last year was better. I think the absence of personality is one thing though that hurt this as part of this did built with Io showing a bit of her dickish side. Even with my complaints the match is still good, just not to the level I was hoping for.

Stardom 1/10/16 - Hiromi Mimura vs. Haruka Kato
This was pretty decent match. The two managed to gel well together, and Mimura continues to show some real improvement with far more confidence in what she is doing. Its really helping her speed up her pace and keep the flow of matches going. Hopefully she continues to improve.

Stardom 1/10/16 - Kyoko Kimura & Kris Wolf vs. Viper & Kaitlin Diemond
Kind of light with a fair bit of comedy so nothing particularly special or worthwhile. Still it had its fun moment and the gaijin seemed to have already become decently comfortable to the style so there wasn't much awkwardness.

Stardom 1/10/16, Goddess of Stardom - Io Shirai & Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Jungle Kyouna & Momo Watanabe
This was pretty fun. The action was decent. The rookies got to impress. And we got a bit of dickish Io which is my favorite Io. Outside of one bad flub this was one of Momo's better performances. This was Kyouna's best outing yet. She finally felt like the power wrestler she is supposed to be with the moments they set up for her. This was good match, one of the better ones I can recall from the Thunder Rock team.

Would be nice to see Miz come home and take the belt away from Meiko. At the very least her & Ohata as challengers would be fun.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was actually upset. I just also think money tends to kill down people's annoyances in these types of situations.

Nakajima's new gear looks nice.

Stardom 12/6/15,  Rookie of the Year - Saori Anou vs. Hiromi Mimura, Starlight Kid vs. Jungle Kyouna, Hiromi Mura vs. Jungle Kyouna
Nothing particularly good here. Everyone debuted only in October and November so all are still pretty green. Does seem like Mimura's getting a bit better but seeing as I found her to initially be the worst that isn't much of a compliment. One thing I have to say is that while I like Kyouna's power gimmick it does feel less impressive against a kid/tween/teen in Starlight Kid and Mimura who is just so damn small.

Stardom 12/6/15, Artist of Stardom titles (vacant) - Shirai/Iwatanai/Watanabe vs. Matsumoto/Skater/Evie vs. Yasukawa/Kimura/Wolf
Generally goofy but fun with the occasional decent action. This was probably one of the more enjoyable matches for this title.

Stardom 12/23/15, Artist of Stardom - Hiroyo Matsumoto, Kellie Skater, & Evie (c) vs. Jungle Kyouna, Hiromi Mimura, & Momo Watanabe
Not a great match but decent with the rookies looking better than expected (ie not a total slaughter). Mimura is looking more comfortable and picking up her pace though again she is just so small with seemingly no power in any of her attacks. Even Kyouna seemed small next to all of Hyper Destroyers which might explain why she saw little time in this one.

Stardom 12/23/15, World of Stardom - Meiko Satomura (c) vs. Io Shirai
This probably has a bit of overkill, but damn was it great and probably at least on par with Meiko/Kairi from June the same year. The action was fantastic and the way the match built really does put over why Io is Stardom's ace. Meiko is still the force she was against Kairi & Mayu, but Io is just much more confident, willful, and fearless than they were. And the match builds into this idea well with what she survives and how much more momentum she builds with her comebacks over time. I also love the finish as a shout out and revenge for Kairi & Mayu's losses. Easily Io's best performance and match from 2015.

That pic is awesome. i love Fujimoto staring in the background confused.

Stardom 11/15/15 - Kairi Hojo vs. Mika Iwata
Hojo controlled things early on and bought nice bit a nastiness to the table until her ego got the best of and gave Iwata the chance to shine a bit before dying horribly. This was a nice match. This and the Chelsea match made me realize how much I like Hojo in the more assertive position. She has a good attitude and carries herself well when she gets chances like this. Iwata continues to look pretty solid though she has a ways to go. i do think Hojo might have sold just a tad much for Iwata, but this was otherwise perfect for its intentions of letting Iwata shine a bit. With that said it, would have been better off on a Sendai show.

Stardom 11/15/15, Wonder of Stardom - Io Shirai (c) vs. Sendai Sachiko
This built into a pretty solid match with Io getting in a decent amount of offense and Sachiko cutting her off at some nice moments. The only thing that mars it a bit is unfortunately the finish which got botched. They recovered well gong to Io moonsault, but it would have been perfect had they hit the Spanish Fly. A Solid match nonetheless.

Stardom 11/15/15, World of Stardom - Meiko Satomura (c) vs. Mayu Iwatani
Not a bad match at all, but I found this one disappointing. Mayu got in a lot of offense w/o getting in a truly believable moment where she could win. It feels like they should have either had a slightly longer match for better build or had Meiko dominate Mayu a bit more to make more of Mayu's comebacks. I did like the finish though which was Meiko just choosing to punish poor Mayu.

Stardom 11/8/15 - Kairi Hojo & Haruka Kato vs. Act Yasukawa & Holidead
Holidead made good use of her size, & I enjoyed Hojo & Kato being scared shitless of her, gradually building up their courage to take her on. Unfortunately the finish is flat with the draw not being well built at all.

Stardom 11/8/15, Goddesses of Stardom Final/Tag Titles - Io Shirai & Mayu Iwantai (c) vs. Hiroyo Matsumoto & Santana Garrett
This ended up being more of a handicap match as Garrett's leg was too hurt, forcing Matsumoto work 95% of the match. That honestly wasn't a bad thing though as it was fun seeing her hand Io & Mayu their asses for a good while. Decent match.

Sendai vs. Stardom 11/12/15, 6x6 Elimination Match - Satomura/Chisako/Sachiko/Miyagi/Iwata/Hashimoto vs. Hojo/Shirai/Iwatani/Wolf/Watanabe/Mimura
Hashimoto vs. Watanabe, Mimura, & Wolf were basically short showcases for Hashimoto with her seemingly getting stronger each showing. They weren't the best matches with Hashimoto still being pretty green, but there is a raw potential there that shows each time. Hashimoto vs. Io was darn fun and the best Hashimoto has looked yet. She was far more confident working a with a vet so everything she did came off pretty well. It was also fun to see Io coming in a bit overly bitchy and suffering for it once or twice. Io vs. Iwata was a good showing for Iwata. Iwata brought plenty of spirit and got in a good deal of offense. Honestly, depending on how fast Hashimoto grows I can see Iwata getting the bigger position sooner. Io/Sachiko & Hojo/Satomura both had some noticeable flubs, but built into some good finishes. Io & Sachiko showed some good frustration and desperation towards the end while Satomura vs. Hojo continued to play off their previous matches and the fact that Hojo just isn't quite ready for to beat Meiko. Mayu vs. Dash was fun and really makes me interested in seeing what she does post-Sachiko. Dash has a wonderfully annoyed, bitchy attitude that she really brought out here. I only wish the finish went a little better. Mayu vs. Miyagi was a pretty decent. Miyagi is still figuring out her style, especially with the massive character change. She does decent enough job controlling the match, but still has a lot about her that screams rookie. I do look forward to seeing how she is when these kinks have been worked out because she shows definite potential here with how she occasionally threw Mayu around. Not great on the whole but damn fun with Sendai's rookies having a good showing despite Stardom running away with the win.

Stardom 8/23/15 - Io Shirai vs. Mayu Iwatani
Plenty of good action here with Mayu showing a nice mean streak I hope she uses more often in the future. Really good match, probably the bets performance I've seen from Mayu this year so far.

Stardom 8/23/15 - Kairi Hojo vs. Chelsea
Decent action and build. Dug Hojo's attitude & assertiveness. Chelsea brought a bit more to the table as well. Good match, easily Chelsea's best performance in Stardom. I only wish she would have brought more of this type of performance to the rest of the tournament.

Stardom 9/23/15, Goddesses of Stardom - Io Shirai & Mayu Iwatanai (c) vs. Sendai Sachiko & Dash CHisako
Thought this was big improvement over their Sendai match which wasn't bad, but felt like they were going a bit through the motions. Thought the action was good and better built with a decent flow. The Jumonji sisters weren't afraid to heel it up every so slightly. Dash in particular showed a good mean streak. Not quite a great match, but damn good and easily the best tag match I've seen from either team.

Stardom 10-11-15 - {Stardom} Kris Wolf Vs. Hiromi Mimura
Match was ok. Mimura looked decent if a bit forgettable outside of her entrance.

Stardom 10-11-15 - Haruka Kato Vs. Saori Anou
Decent enough. Anou feels like she has some power behind her and is more athletic than one would think just looking at her. I'm really interested to see how she develops in a few months because there is definite potential in her.

Stardom 10-11-15, High Speed Title - La Rosa Negra (c) vs. Mayu Iwatani
The two meshed together pretty well and brought some very nice action to the table. Good match on the whole. Mayu's improvement thois last year has been damn impressive, and Negra has been one of the better gaijin pick ups Stardom has made despite her goofiness. I really hope Negra returns at some point.

Stardom 10-11-15 Wonder of Stardom - Io Shirai (c) vs. Dark Angel
I loved this one. Stock was fantastic on offense and brought so much nifty shit to the table. This was easily the best I've seen Stock look in Stardom. I would have liked to seen Io get in just a bit more offense,  but it was nothing like her match with Star Fire where she beat her way too easily. Io had more comebacks and had to work for a bit for the win. Damn good match. Its a shame though that the best match I've seen from Stock is likely her last for a good while. Still its a good match to go out on.

This is not what I was expecting. I figured Kairi would have her title shot and maybe another match between the Kanari sisters & Io/Mayu. I'm still curious to see how it turns out.

News & Results / Re: SENDAI
« on: October 11, 2015, 09:21:03 AM »
No surprising results. I like actually like Miyagi's heel look.

Kana Pro 3/8/15 - Kana & Konami Takemoto vs. Syuri & Hikaru Shida
Solid action action with the match never slowing down much. Shida & Syrui made for a decent team. Konami did fine, but could have brought more spirit to the table. Kana was good in support role, rescuing Konami when needed and having nice face offs with Syuri. Good match.

JWP 7/11/15 - Arisa Nakajima vs. Hikaru Shida
Shida actually controlled this one with Arisa making occasional strong comebacks, but the damage to her back taking its toll on her as it went on. Thought this was good, probably the best match I've seen Shida in though I think this was a bit more on Arisa and her selling.

Stardom, 7/26/15, World of Stardom - Kairi Hojo (c) vs. Meiko Satomura
I thought this played well off of their first title match with Hojo coming in less cocky and trying to play things a bit smarter. It leads to her bringing more of a fight and not being on pure defensive. Still they push well that Meiko is still just that much stronger with her managing to counter and tear away Hojo's momentum on nearly all of her big moves. I appreciated the finish with Meiko not leaving anything to chance hitting two DVB before going for the pin. Very good match though not quite up to the level of their first match with some flubs and weaker moments. Still I enjoy the story they are telling with Hojo showing growth, but still being a few levels below someone like Meiko.

Stardom 9/13/15, 5*GP - Chelsea vs. KAORU
One sided and kind of boring. I didn't find KAORU interesting at all when in control, and Chelsea's comebacks were pretty weak for the most part.

Stardom 9/13/15, 5*GP - Mayu Iwatani vs. La Rosa Negra
Decent match with some nice bits of action. I think Negra was maybe just a pinch too goofy though with some of her actions and offense.

Stardom 9/13/15, 5*GP - Kairi Hojo vs. Queen Maya
This was a lot of what you might expect with plenty of big vs. small, speed vs. power focused action. It was actually pretty decent for the most part though the inability to hit the bigger spots of the match along with the poorly executed finish made for a weaker match than this could have been. I would love to see these two try this again at some point as I can see a stronger match between them.

Stardom 9/13/15, 5*GP - Io Shirai vs. Hudson Envy
Started off nice though the early bits on the outside hurt this a little. Otherwise, this was pretty solid. Envy & Io have good chemistry and brought some good action to the table. I really dug the finish with Envy just going into overkill mode to make sure there was no chance of a kickout.
