Title: CRUSH (2003) video trailer - Melina, Traci, Lacey, Melissa
Post by: shimmerwrestling on May 27, 2008, 04:47:59 PM
With a bit of assistance from one of those who was involved in organizing the CRUSH project back in 2003, I've gotten my hands on the trailer produced after the filming of the pilot episode, and uploaded it to the web for everyone to check out. The link is below.

Keep your eyes peeled for a cameo appearance by Austin Aries with a fake mustache.

For those unfamiliar with what CRUSH was, some of the people behind the old GLOW television series attempted to revive it in 2003 under the name CRUSH, using several former WOW wrestlers, in addition to top names from the independent scene. They filmed the pilot in early February of 2003, but it never got anywhere past that. The goal was to sell the show to Comedy Central, but it never panned out. Thus, a pile of money was blown on the filming of the pilot, which never wound up released in any form (I'm told the footage was destroyed after Comedy Central wasn't interested).

Here's a list of who was a part of the CRUSH roster...

1) Thelma Throttle (Minnesota wrestler Mystique/Ashley Xavier)
2) Kickstart Katie (Wrestles for Harley Race's WLW and in Minnesota as Miss Natural)

17) Chica (WOW's Loca)

Here's a look at the artwork that accompanied the pilot that they pitched to Comedy Central (no, it was never released as a DVD)...

Well, Comedy Central wouldn't necessarily be the best option, anyway. Besides, 2003 was when Spike TV was at its infancy.

They run Mind of Mencia because they were desperate for something to fill the void that Chappelle left.
