After Emi Sakura left Ice Ribbon, she free-lanced for a while, but all that time she was brewing some new projects. Her vision is to bring joshi puroresu to all of Asia, starting with...Thailand! After defeating Kaori Yoneyama in JWP, in the stipulation match, Kaori also joined Gatoh Move.

Since then, they have both been recruiting and training in Thailand. Please support them if you can, by checking out their fantastic matches between Kaori and Emi, on Youtube, like their page on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, buy their beautiful t-shirt if it becomes available, etc.!

Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling is touted as the first pro-wrestling promotion in Thailand!

Wow~! That's incredibly ambitious. It was such a "far out" proclamation that most people thought she was kidding.

Changing the lives of women through pro wrestling. Incredible.

They seem to be struggling a bit, trying to build the 1st pro-wres promotion in Thailand. All the people who have come to train so far are men. They've allowed them to come and train to get the word out, but you can't build a joshi puroresu promotion with all man lol! I hope they will get some committed female recruits soon!

I noticed that in the training video. It's hard to reach girls with such a "masculine" concept especially in a country where pro-wrestling is near non-existent. Maybe they'd have luck with mid to low level female athletes/fighters.

They should have came to the US and set up shop. :(

Awesome!  I hope they post some of the footage on their youtube account.

Sakura blogged that a singles match with Kandori is her dream match.  Hopefully, an event like this will lead to that match happening for her at some point.

I can't help the guy who posted a few months ago about if/when Gatoh Move is appearing in Thailand.

However, I can tell you that apparently Riho's reason for leaving Ice Ribbon probably wasn't really her studies, as she showed u at Ichigaya not long after her final Ice Ribbon match and joined Gatoh Move.  I think it's pretty apparent her loyalty is to Emi.

C'mon ladies who wanna be wrestlers! Check out the announcement from Gatoh Move:

Quote
I don't know if any girls or women in this group want to be wrestler and trained with Emi but now we welcome girls from around the world. Only girls/women will get 300 baht per day after training plus a chance to wrestle in Japan. (Anyway, there is some rules for trainees to get 300 baht). Thailand has a low living cost. I wish this is of a choice for you.

I was having a little trouble with context while translating the last show, so a couple of the names might not be totally accurate.  "Kyounin" might be "Annin" instead; this is one of Haru Miyako's UMA Army members.  "Soregashi" might be "Nanigashi" instead in the last match; this character is obviously played by Masa Takanashi.

Also, random LLPW-X appearance!

2. Yes Rope Match: Emi Sakura & Masa Takanashi wrestled Madoka & Riho (10:24) to a no contest.
3. Time Difference Battle Royale: Taro Yamada Referee defeated Emi Sakura (11:19) with an Oklahoma Roll.
-- Exit Order: Taro Yamada, Sayaka Obihiro & Guanchulo, Madoka, Masa Takanashi, Kaori Yoneyama, Hoshitango,「Kotori」, Riho, Emi Sakura

- Originally, the second match ended when Sakura pinned Riho with a Somato Cutback; however, in the roundtable discussion, Riho appealed, saying she was outside the ropes, and after the referee agreed it shouldn’t have been a legal fall, the result was changed to a no contest.
- The battle royale had no referee; instead, the audience counted the falls.  After being eliminated earlier in the match, Taro Yamada returned as a referee and counted when Sakura pinned Riho.  Sakura thought she had won, but Yamada rolled her up for the win.
- At the end of the show, Sakura claimed that the experimental things they did on this show were a complete failure and instructed representatives of a visiting Mexican wrestling magazine to throw away their photos.  Hilarious.

- The last match was American wrestling themed.  “Hulk Hogan” was Antonio Honda.  Takanashi was wearing a Russian hat and playing the foreign heel.  There was a ref bump thrown in for good measure too.

I haven't followed this promotion closely, but they have a website:  http://gatohmove.com/

They have five members, Emi Sakura, Riho, Sayaka Obihiro (the latter two followed Emi after she left Ice Ribbon), Kotori, and Fukin Kitazawa.  Other regulars include Kaori Yoneyama, SAKI & MIZUKI (those two are LLPW-X's "Brilliant Battle Girls") and indy guys like Madoka, Masa Takanashi, Chou-Un Shiryu, etc.

Emi Sakura announced that Gatoh Move will run Korakuen Hall for the first time on August 13th.

It's honestly a little disappointing that Sakura is wasting the later years of her career with this. She's still great talent and I'd much rather see her working the bigger joshi promotions.
Stardom in particular  could use a veteran of her skill level.

How is Emi "wasting the later years of her career with this" if she's actually doing something she seems to love and have fun doing, and is in complete control of the product?

Give me a match with Emi having with kids she's training and crew of friends and having a blast with, over watching her carry someone and going through the motions in Stardom.

She did the same stuff in Ice Ribbon, so that doesn't sway me in the least.

She's having fun with her career and not having to listen to anyone, how many others can say the same.  She's obviously having a blast and doesn't care about what anyone thinks, and her roster is happy.

And I'd rather watch that than watch 3/4 of the stuff going on today (men or women) or read 100% of the "experts" opinions on here or the FB forum comment.

Check it out, it's good stuff.  Old-school Ice Ribbon fans will appreciate the post-match reference too.

Gatoh Move's Korakuen Hall debut did 800 in attendance, which is somewhat surprising with that card.
